Sonya Thomas’ plans to enter the Nathan’s qualifier in Philadelphia this Saturday have not been changed by the recent addition of two contests this weekend according to this paragraph in philly.com (The paragraph claims that Joey Chestnut is from San Diego, so it is possible that this is inaccurate)

I feel sorry for the other eaters if Sonya does really attend this event. But based on her low total of 32 last year at Norfolk, she will likely just use the qualifier as a tune up for Nathans. So I really don’t expect her numbers to be anything to talk about. She might only eat a couple of dozen or so. After all you qualify whether you win by 1/2 of a dog or 20. Right?

Rhonda, It’s very obvious you don’t know Sonya very well if you think she will be content to qualify with 24 hot dogs. Her competitive nature would never ever allow for that!
