PhillyNews – Mayoral eating contest (fiction)
(From Carey Poehlmann) Philly news reports on a fictional eating contest to determine the mayor of Philadelphia:
Thanks to D-Mac at Philly Will Do for covering Al Taubenberger and Michael Nutter’s latest idea to settle the choice for mayor: eating contest.
Taubenberger bested Nutter 3/4 hoagie to 1/2 hoagie. The contest got out of hand, however, when suprise mayoral challenger, El Wingador, jumped in and ate 11 hoagies. All hail, Mayor Wingador.

I’m not kidding when I say that El Wingador would be a drastic improvement in this town…..plus think of all the hot Wingettes he’d appoint to town council!

I think eating contests to determine our leaders is a good idea. A lot better than that whole “democracy” thing we’ve got now. We all know how that’s working out.

I don’t know who’d be a more beloved mayor Rendel or Wingador.

SB, if the mayor of your hamlet were to appoint Eater X as councilman (at which I think he would be upstanding), I think a move would be on my horizon, followed by an abrupt shaft, I mean shift, of personal interest into politics.

philly guy…. mr. Rendell is only beloved out there in philly, not here in pittsburgh!!!
but by the way…… i’m sitting in the philly airport right now and the whole town smells of crap and lard.
The only thing good is the annoying voice of this bartender serving me 34 oz. mugs of beer as I wait to go to Boston!!!
