    According to the announcement, ” Contestants are: Joseph Manchetti, Craig Hooper, Jamie McDonald, Saoheng Young, Jim McGrath, John Sherlock, Mike Plumer and Josh Crowley….” The sponsor doesn’t even know who these guys are (Joe Manchetti) and they expect people who happen to show up to buy a pizza and find that an eating contest is going on to know who these eaters are? Can you see the average jamoke filling out his submission on who he thinks is going to win:

    “Hmm, Joe Manchetti, isn’t he the guy who came in second at Nathan’s this year? But, I thought his name was Joey Bertoletti not Manchetti? Hey, wait a minute, isn’t Jamie McDonald that gal who can eat all those wings? But, I could swear she was an Asian chick? I guess I’ll choose Saoheng Young. He has to be that guy who got arrested a couple years ago for not signing a Nathan’s contract. Oh, whatever, I give up, who are these people!”

    Even though Manchetti is impatient sitting on the Hooper waiting for McDonald, saying, “while I’m still Young, as the other eaters’ tardiness for the contest starts to stir up Joe’s Wrath. No shit Sherlock, even a Plumer can figure out Joe’s getting impatient, and I am not just Joshing you.

    MLE is laying out the red carpet for Jamie, as they should. As good as he is, different rules should apply. It is good for MLE to let him eat in their contests with or without a contract. Anyone who doesn’t like it can pull out.
