Randy Santel is obviously the GOAT of restaurant food challenges. No one will ever come close to him. He is the father of restaurant food challenges. No, a food challenge is not some bullshit made up home challenge for all the delusionals out there. I have to finally speak up about something these “eaters” who are delusionals do when they are fortunate enough to eat with Randy. BTW, Randy is either too nice, a poor judge of character, or both.

If you get the opportunity to eat with Randy you don’t try and smoke him and act like a casual POS doing it. I have news for you. You are a POS and your disrespect of Randy as the GOAT and father of food challenges shows how pathetic you are and your character too. You should purposely finish with Randy at the same time out of respect. Or finish after. I also have news for you…collabing with Randy is not going to blow your channel up. The latest to do this is Jerome Burns. Burns…go back to your parents basement.

Speaking of delusionals, why did “Kyle Can Only Eat 4 pounds” stop posting his long elaborate posts with his win and loss record? Could it be he failed another challenge and is attempting to hide it from everyone? I guess all that butt kissing of Jack Pukeath has turned him into a dishonest cheater like his buddy.

I also noticed that Jerome finished the challenge well before Randy. He should have known to eat at Randy’s pace and finish at the same time.

5:27 is right, Jerome should have showed respect to Randy, but instead he took the opportunity to eat the challenge much faster than the GOAT. He’s either clueless about “norms” when you’re lucky enough to eat with Randy, or he’s ungrateful.

Can you wannabes QUIT PUTTING BEARDMEATSFOOD in your YouTube titles! It’s not going to help to any large degree. THE MARKET IS SATURATED wannabes! It’s not going to change. Quit embarrassing yourselves by also acting like hot dogshit that you beat “beard’s record.” HELLLOOOO! He’s not eating for speed you morons! Pathetic. Just Pathetic.

Putting Beard in your title could help via SEO. You need to educate yourself a bit on how the various social media algorithms function a little bit better before casting judgment. It won’t lead to virality, but could definitely provide a boost. Years ago eaters were experimenting with the keyword ‘Massive’ in their titles and descriptions and it was giving a bump.

lol so I’m a delusional as well? 7:18 that title was explained during the video. Adam’s very first collab video with me started with “Smashing Randy Santel…” I have no care in the world if someone beats me during a food challenge. Shawn whooped me during our two collabs as well in Massachusetts haha, and so have like 100 other people over the past 15 years. I silently retired from competitive eating in 2015. People can finish before me, at the same time, or after me when filming videos together, and they can also post their video as soon as they want. It all makes no difference to me. To me, finishing before me makes no difference, as long as the video turns out well. Jerome did a great job and it was fun to meet him and his family.

And, yet, here we are in June of 2025 and he’s still going strong with food challenges. I see no ramp down. It appears based on his posts he will enter into a new career market. It should be interesting.

^^and this comment by Randy is why he’s the GOAT / godfather of food challenges. He’s super nice. Nevertheless. Shawn and Jerome shouldn’t have purposefully done their challenges faster than you during your collabs with them. Even though you don’t mind, Randy, it is kind of a respect thing.

7:18 I’ve said a few times that my original plans didn’t involve buying the house we bought in Nashville with a 6.99% loan for around half of it. Katina and I worked hard and got it paid off within 13 months, and now we’re debt free and able to live off my TikTok and Snapchat income, and invest Meta and YouTube plus all of Katina’s, who is one of the people who has passed me lol. I did switch down to posting just one video each week, back in April, and I’ll be starting my new RDN channel this fall once we are home from our European travels. Still have a few goals to complete before I put away my big forks and spoons.

Who exactly is going to watch an RDN channel by a “dietician” who really can’t control their diet outside of doing food challenges either except for periods of crash dieting weight loss? Anyone can drop weight. It’s sustaining that is hard. You are the probably the GOAT of yo-yo dieting. We shall see if you can give up food challenges and control the binge eating.

If it is just for fun, why all the promotion for ATTENTION? People on here in major denial. These are mental/psychological issues and people need to see a shrink for both. You could also point to “addiction” as well for both. Yup, addiction. So much for the the common “hobby” or “just for fun” excuses. 9:01 – Doing food challenges and made up challenges at home is NOT “competitive eating”. Few actually compete in eating contests. Getting addicted to and actually multiple food challenges per week is NOT manageable via calorie control which is obviously the right way to do it. And, no, it is not with exercise either. It’s putting the fork down. Literally.

You guys don’t understand what a saturated market is. If anything the market is completely open. The problem is finding creators who can fill the demand with engaging content. Even Randy struggled in his early years. It would also help your perspective if you dropped your obsession with YouTube. Plenty of eaters are making a good living off the other platforms.

What do you guys consider a “good living” these days? It appears it’s poverty level. The sheer number doing it makes it saturated. And, yet again, people have to make choices for their free time to watch social media even the weirdos who follow people binging on camera. Using Randy as the example of his “struggle” what…literally over a decade ago (11 years) points out lack of understanding what has happened over history of the internet and where we are now.

Name the “plenty of eaters” which is likely less than 10 people. 10 people! Probably less than 5 UNLESS you think poverty level income is so awesome.

Also, “the named obsession with YouTube” is ALL the eaters putting out at least 1 if not 2 videos per week like clockwork. And, putting in hours and hours of editing, traveling for hours to do it, etc. So, bottom line you are clueless.

4:58 – Since you are a marketing genious it appears, what are the following eaters doing “wrong” exactly in the Market. Pretty sure none of them are “making a good living” off of doing videos, etc. on the net.

    Molly – started 2012
    Dan Kennedy – started 2016
    Magic Mitch – started 2015
    Heavy D – started 2016
    Geoff Esper – started 2014

Maybe you can contact all these eaters and get a consulting fee and tell them why they aren’t “making a good living” from eating???? And, this is just the short list. You can probably make a huge amount off consulting with all the delusionals out there so they can “make a good living” as well.

9:42 just to avoid confusion, I was kind of being arrogant since the person called me a delusional as well. My Snapchat and TikTok are my worst performing monetized channels. We are debt free and have minimal living expenses, so can live off just my Snap and TikTok and invest all the rest or go on fun trips. YouTube longform content has always been and in my opinion will continue to be the highest driver of revenue. It’s also the hardest traffic and attention to get as well. Vertical content can do okay but it takes way more views and as we all know, some eaters who just have vertical videos with no longform content traffic have resorted to crowdfunding.

3:40 I would say that 85% or more of the negative comments on my channels are littered with spelling errors and the misuse of to/too/two or your/you’re. I’m discusting and glutenous and talk to much. Those people think their opinion matters, when in reality it doesn’t, since they didn’t even have enough self-respect to proofread and sound at least a little educated. In this situation though, spelling was fine. Dietitians in the USA undergo a slightly different curriculum and path than dieticians in the Commonwealth. A dietician from Australia can’t just boat to the USA and start operating as a clinical dietitian.

All of the talk about the market being saturated is a bunch of nonsense. It’s multifactorial of course, and the main reasons can’t really be discussed too much since they go against human nature to continually exceed personal & viewer expectations and the desire for dopamine and dollars. The Golden Goose isn’t totally cooked, but its at least 145 degrees F. There is a reason that hardly any new people are entering our sport these days, and it is not just because building an audience is 1,000x harder these days than when I started in 2010.

And to other comments, I lived with mom and dad from 2014 until August 2016 when I went back to college again, since I wasn’t making enough to live on my own. I didn’t really start making “good” money until Facebook monetized in June 2018. So yeah, it took me 8 years to really get everything going and mainly got lucky that I started betting on Mark Zuckerberg a few years early, which all paid off well. I’ll be starting a new channel this Fall and it will be interesting to see what happens with that.

“All of the talk about the market being saturated is a bunch of nonsense.” The data says differently and you’ve demonstrated you have not looked closely at what’s going on under the covers with actual data (no offense) besides your own. But, yet you state in the next sentence: The Golden Goose isn’t totally cooked, but its at least 145 degrees F. That’s market saturation. It’s happening in every area UNLESS you come up with some super unique niche no one else has used which MIGHT get you some traction. I mean just the sheer number of people doing YouTube is a factor. Again, people have to make consumption choices for content. Everyone seems to be trying to copy Beard’s formula or even yours Randy. Guess what? Sameo. Sameo is not going to work. Carry on everyone with the denial of “all for fun” and “just a hobby.” And, of course as an excuse for eating disorders.

4:49am– Not sure when you learned the word “saturated”, but clearly it’s your favorite term in the English language. It’s like you need to use it once per day in your posts to keep your streak alive…

Could it be that all the eaters that post content regularly on the list above (who are not making a good living from it) are not making good content? Just posting regularly does not ensure success on YouTube or other content platforms. Stop saying “the market is saturated”–you sound so ignorant. That girl who goes to buffets all day and tries to see how long she can stay before she gets kicked out blew up in a matter of weeks. Not traditional “food challenge” content, but still proof that it’s possible to gain a huge audience with some niche content in the “eating” genre.

Too much competition for viewers and an idea that is now stale and old. Poof! Good bye channel. Only a measly 19K views at this pt. in time.

9:16 – It was for sure! It was just destined to fail because of the market dynamics and again the fact that people who view videos on YouTube have to make consumption choices and there really aren’t that many dedicated people who like to watch people eat. LOL! Although the twins concept was super unique and not surprisingly go look at their views previously and this newest video where they went back to the old niche. The return on the time investment I suspect was still not there which is why they quit in the first place and tried this new idea. Note they didn’t eat! Tiring, old, and non engaging for themselves to be motivated to continue I would guess prior to this new idea. Then, they were no longer relevant and while some of the delusionals here think getting 20K views a video will make them rich and famous, it’s not going to.
