Rich and Sonya go 5 for 5 in KSO finals

The results of today’s Memphis qualifier have kept two streaks alive. Rich Lefevre and Sonya Thomas are the only American eaters to have qualified for all five Krystal Square Off finals. A list of eaters who have qualified 3 or more times follows:

update IFOCE.com reports that Sonya Thomas has declined to attend the finals and that Crazy Legs Conti will take her slot.

    wanna bet any amount of money that if it was anyone else in the running for the wildcard beside crazy legs they would have abandon the 3rd wilcard entry and just went with the two eaters Juris and Badlands that already qualified

    Betting man, what you are implying has more to do with speculation and opinion than with betting. Betting involves statistics applied to chance. The bet you are suggesting can never be paid out. While forming individual opinion and assumptions based on said opinion is a right every American person proclaims loudly, a bet that cannot be paid, either to the house or to the betting man, is contrary to the definition and meaning of a bet. Bets cannot have stalemates (obviously different from breaking even), and your hypothesis results in a stalemate between differing assumptions founded upon differing opinions. I support your right to your opinions and assumptions, but the wager you suggest goes nowhere and thus, is quite anticlimactic and pointless (unless you use a big stick, which again is not betting, but bullying). A bet worth making is: who is going to win the finals and with what numbers? Unfortunately, I still attend betters anonymous and cannot wager, or else it is 100% chance (implying no chance, or certitude) that my wife would punch out my teeth (and we can thank the women’s movement for that and bralessness).

    If you are a fan of competitive eating, whether you follow the AICE or MLE, if you’re not a fan of CL Conti, you’re either stupid or ignorant. He asks for little, but gives much in return for doing what he can do to advance CE. I’d say he give it more leverege than anyone going.

    Let’s clear some things up! First, I have never done more than one Krystal qualifier a year, Tonto (you are thinking of Nathan’s). Secondly (and far more important), Crazy Legs definitely earned his spot into the finals with two terrific performances – he was not given anything! Just because he is a well spoken, highly intelligent individual does not mean that he is not also a great eater. He has become the latter with a lot of dedication and hard work and deserves all the accolades he gets and to top it off he is truly one of the classiest guys you will ever meet. I have spoken!

    I think that the crazy legs bashing would be less or possibly non existent on this site if he came on and defended himself from time to time. His decision to refrain from replying to anonymous posters or real posters for that matter leaves him wide open to all of this controversy. He will always be known as the Shea’s prize pupil or golden boy unless he is able to convince us otherwise. The old saying of turn the other cheek or sticks and stones is not a wise move on his part.

    How about the saying, “Out of site, out of mind.” Perhaps Crazy Legs is just tired of your BS and has no desire to respond. He does his talking at the table where it really matters.

    The guy has a great speaking voice and will do anything asked in order to promote the sport he loves. It is not always about money and it certainly is not ass-kissing.

    Mike, I’ll second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth that notion (since I’ve been accused of being—-and could possibly be, I guess—-Sonya, Rona, Tim, OJ, and BB).

    The smart people/eaters don’t post here on a regular basis, even though I’m sure they read eatfeats.

    As obnoxious, juvenile, and heartless as the comments are on this site, asking any eater to respond and “defend” himself is like the big bad kitty asking the little mouse to come out of his hole, so that the cat can have him for dinner.

    Besides, addressing obnoxious comments sort of validates them, as if they merit a reponse. They don’t.

    They’re like your teeth: ignore them and they’ll go away.
