    Don, that truly is one of the most amazing records I can ever remember. It sounded impossible at the time, and you have a right to be most proud of it. Even if or when it gets broken, it doesn’t matter. All records get broken. Even Koby’s record of 50 hot dogs has been surpassed.

    But just as Koby was the first to break the 50-dog barrier, you were the first to annihilate the 2:00 barrier for eating beans. Because you demonstrated how great you are compared to the eaters around you at the time. No one can ever take that from you.

    If I were the one to have that record my epitaph would be: “May God bless and keep Rhonda Evans: 6 Pounds of baked beans in a minute 46 seconds. Now the wind beneath her wings is of the Lord, versus that caused by those hastily eaten legumes.”

    Dale, your math sucks. 84 oz. is only 5 lbs. 4 oz., Don’s record is for 6 lbs. (96 oz.) – he owns the record.

    I was there to watch Don set the baked bean record. It was right after i beat Kevin for the IFOCE pickle title . Feingold was concerned with his cellphone messages instead of paying attention to the upcoming bean title which is why Don kicked his ass. I think Don would have beaten any eater that day no matter who it was. He jumped on the beans and never looked back. Boone owns nothing . All his baked bean victories should be striken from the records. They gave him the victory over Sonya because he grabbed a gallon of water before she could and doused the hot beans with the cold water and drank them.

    I really didn’t want to get into this food slinging match – however… Dale, while you’re putting down Erik for not qualifying, lets keep in mind that YOU didn’t qualify for Nathan’s this year, and went off to Memphis for ribs instead of attempting to qualify in NY at the Coney Island qualifier. Where (Memphis), I might add, you posted a number that would have put you in 10th place had you shown up at the Ash Creek Saloon in Connecticut. You pick and choose your contests just like the rest of us, so knock it off.
