Those must’ve been tough sliders. I’ve seen Bob with Krystals and was surprised by the “low” numbers. Good job to all the eaters. Now that the inaugural contest is over, we all have something to aim for!

Congratulations to Juliet and even though this was her first time beating Sonya maybe this is a sign of things to come. Good job Juliet.

    Bob had 37.5
Wing Kong had 20 (0 with a slash)
    Davekos had 17.5
    Brian Subich had 16.5

Numbers were reported to me incorrectly, attempted to correct before the picture was posted on the eatingcontest twitter.

    Sorry for the inaccuracies.

In this new to me world of Facebook and Twitter and instant gratification, often details get lost. With that intro, congrats to all of the eaters and the constant Thank You to Wild Bill, I slowed down myself and looked at Sonya’s website again but more slowly. I realized that it really IS dedicated to fans, with links for finding one’s way to contests, weather, tons of photos, beautifully organized and now, as of when I do not know, there is the Statue of Liberty in the background. And perhaps someone who is savvy could tell Juliet Lee either how to or to fix her website link (I think ojrifkin did on this site). The more fans the merrier.

So how many did Juliet eat? 26 or 36 (according to Anon1023). Judging by the reporting in that News-Post article, it sounds like 26. The article didn’t actually mention Juliet, but it did talk about Sonia and Bob being in a “dead heat” until the end, so I’m guessing Juliet finished a distant third.

My “official” total was 16.5, my unofficial total was 38 for first place, my imagined total in my heart of hearts was 19, the toal given by Rich Shea was: “I’ll get back to you”, my total after cleaning all the debris out of my cups when I dunked when no one was looking was 139, my total that I could have eaten had I not had breakfast was 22, my total that I could have eaten had Davekos not stolen all my ketchup was 41. Congrats to H1N1 Shoudt for a masterful performance, and to anyone who was able to eat more than 10 of those things.

Outside of the people who were under that tent yesterday…and the other eaters who were at home..not a single soul in this country gives a rats ass…if subich at 16.5 or 19….or where Davekos finished. So remember that when Rhonda Evans claims she is just a fan. There aint no fans but the ones that are in the IFOCE or the other copycats that claim to be pro eaters

Wrong again on both counts A-11:42. Information is either correct or it isn’t. I opt for the former.

I second that, Rhonda. Accurate statistics are the cornerstone of any legitimate sport, which is why competitive eating will never be a legitimate sport.

This lack of comments reminds me of my childhood (just a few) years ago. When I wanted to play, others didn’t, when I didn’t feel like playing, others did.

Well, I’ll just pull a Peg Bundy and play w/ myself.

    ….

Wow, that’s not half bad! Gotta get some more batteries for Otis, however.

I’ll never say never Mega, but as we speak it isn’t legitimate as a sport, because the eaters take it more seriously than the powers that be.

That crawfish event at the beginning of the year was the epitome of that. But, that’s the past, and at least since then things (seem to) have improved rule / judging-wise.

According to BB the event Saturday was one of the better-run / better-sponsored ones. I hope the Roy Rogers chain’s relationship w/ CE is long and fruitful.
