Darn! I had been training for my epic one on one battle with The Black Hole….now I’m left with an empty hole…….wait, that just doesn’t sound right. The Best Dressed List will never be the same! So, are the Keeler Crazies now going to be the Keeler Kancer Krushers?

Russ is a freaking voracious competitor. If he thinks he has a shot at you, he’s gonna take it. Eats super clean and fair, that guy has pushed me in many many contests right to the wall over 5 years. Plus an awesome family guy to boot. This is a horrible loss for us who fight the middle-ground……
Cant wait to run into the Black Hole again some day! Good Luck!!!!!!

Every time I see tie-dyed t-shirts, I’ll get misty-eyed. Now who’ll fight like a girl? Good luck Russ, we’ll miss you.

A true gentleman of the sport. The man found a way to make tie dye intimidating!

Your love of adventure and family and your enthusiasm will be missed, not to mention your wonderfully artistic outfits. Wishing you and yours all good things in the future, you will be successful whatever you choose to do.

nice guy but have you ever tried to have a conversation with him? Half of him is listening to you and the other half drifts into outer space

Good luck with everything you do, Russ! BTW, I’ve had plenty of conversations with him, with no issues. Perhaps it was because he didn’t want to be talking to you in the first place, anonymous @7:59. Way to be an ass.

Competitive eaters retiring are like comic book characters staying dead, it just doesn’t happen.
It’s only a hiatus Russ 🙂

The word retire is a joke or pun on words. Nobody is drawing a monetary pension leaving the sport .

Competitive eaters retiring is like BigWill saying he’s not hungry-don’t ever believe it!

I have Russ to thank for getn me to the MLE table; he convinced me to register for my 1st Nathan’s qualifier. Had I not taken his advice, I never would have known how much fun I could have in CE 🙂 Success to you, Russ, in all your endeavors 🙂

I agree. Most retirements in competitive eating are very Favreish.
