What were the rules for overtime?

The rules were: Whoi ever ate the most in one minute. I believe they both ate 3.5 in the overtime, but erik swallowed his first.

Congratulation to Erik, Pat, and Allen. The three of them went neck and neck from start to finish. It was a shame 2 of them had to lose.

And just in case any one care I did 20 HDBs.

Brian competed, He did very well. That is all I will say, because some people always have negative stuff to say about him.

Thank you Carey. It was a hard 20 today.

Wow Erik, congrats on the performance today. Looks like you secured your spot in the Nathan’s Finals nice and early this year. Only bad thing is you won’t bee done in san francisco for the sf qualifier… I wonder who will win that one now that you won’t be competing… probably the locusts if he entered in that one.

Wow, sweet job Erik! No wild card competition for you 🙂

Awesome job. Congrat Erik. Exciting overtime too. One minute doesn’t seem like enough time though (as we saw from the almost overtime tie). A three minute overtime would be better.

Congrats to you Erik, you deserved it. Very impressive of you to go out east and steal a nice qualifier (early!) from the big boys of the East Coast, very bad ass, and pimp. Good for you, you qualified before Shoudt and the Locust. I hope you can be the next eater to hit 30 or Tim Brown. Good luck at Coney. Such a feat can slip you in the top 10 if Conti and Seaver eat less than you. Very impressive.

Congrats to Erik on his win but also to Pat for being right there forcing OT. Awesome job Pat!

That sounds like the most competitive qualifier so far. Pat, don’t wory, you’ll win the next qualifier you enter. You can eat 26-27, and no one remaining will, with the exception of Bob, Rich, and possibly Brian Subich, but I expect Bob and Rich to be in different qualifiers.

Brian Subich proving that without cheating he can not even do the deuce. 19 hotdogs is very respectable… but no way does a guy do 27 in one contest… and 19 in another a couple weeks later?!?! At least now we know how many HD&B’s he hids in his cups… lucky number 8…

Ny wings guy why dont you release your real name so Subich can have the pleasure of knowing who the person is that takes such an interest in him

So does Hardy have to go to all of Subich’s contests from now on to keep him from cheating? Nobody has a ‘bad day’ and suddenly eats 8 less hotdogs and buns. Seems like the guy has no shame and will cheat the first chance he gets at whatever contest is next. It’s not fair for everyone else who puts their heart into making themselves better to have him cheating so blatantly and often. Hell, he can break the world record if you give him big enough cups.

Common knowledge BBS is a cheating ass. Ask any eater privtely and that is what you’ll hear.

Maybe the guy had an off day, because he had to read crap about himself, from fools like you all week. If you think you have what it takes to beat him go give it a try. IF NOT SHUT YOUR MOUTHS!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. That was the most fun/stressful competition I have ever been in. Goldstein really surprised me by how well he came out and Pat seems to just calmly put up huge numbers. All of the old school eaters who were in attendance were very kind to me and really made the event special. I won’t forget this one.

I will get my blog updated hopefully by tonight or tomorrow, I am waiting for some pictures.
