Its a complet e outrage that the great Brian Seiken’s name was not even mentioned. He should boycott the event to teach them a lesson.

It happens quite a bit done out of spite and the ironic part is that he is headlining the show

Oh like Bob is going to walk there. All three will be flown out there and more power to them. I am just glad I got in the event myself.

Anyone know how The IFOCE goes about determining who gets in the contest and who’s on the waiting list?

You need to be seasoned veterans like BB , Badlands Conti Janus etc to even be considered for an event like this. As far as doing Elvis welllllll thats another story. You had better have some talent or you will get thrown off the stage and out of the building

You have to be quick like a rabbit in registering, but points are deducted if you’re an asshole.

A lot of the time it is first come first serve on events, then they consider where you live, then if they know who you are and show up when you sign up, and general demand and popularity. They know who you are after a few events, how you behave, and they do reward a good show and effort.

I cant stand these fuckers that register and change their mind only because either the flights are expensive or they cant carpool . Spend some money for once in your life

I just munched on a couple of peanut butter and bannana sandwiches and i must say they taste damn good . Very flavorful and fattening.

It is a non dunking event. Should be interesting to test out how best to cut the sticky factor.

Also show up for events. There are folks out there that want your spot so the least you can do it show up and try. Hey everyone understands if your kid is sick or someone dies but otherwise show up.

So do you think they will cut the bannannas lengthwise or in rounds? White or wheat bread? Chucky or smooth? One sided PB or both? What cuts through PB best milk, water, lemonade, beer, ect…. My mind is aflutter with questions and technique ideas.

I’m thinking length-wise, smooth, on one side of white bread. I thought Elvis liked his with bacon though?

    Sounds even better with bacon.

BB’s probably an authority on Elvis’ PB & Banana Sandwiches. As I think of it, I bet bacon would add to its flavor. What about it BB?

Ever try them with Honey? No, I’m not talking about myself being layed in the sandwich, bee honey. They’re really great like that.

A Rhonda sandwich might be sticky though.

Everything’s better with bacon. They’re good with honey too. Honey would definitely add to the stickiness factor. Although, it makes my mouth water all the more…

I got my white jumpsuit and glasses. When i get up on stage let the audience decide whether or not i made a mockery of the king. On the PB& banana sandwiches, they must be toasted for the peanut butter and banana to melt in. Untoasted white bread will make them taste real nasty.

I would love them with Bacon and Honey…I feel like Homer Simpson…MMMmmmm Bacon…I think I drooled on myself typing this…

Wanna bet the sandwiches will made with institutional white bread, no name peanut butter and over ripened bananas and half assed toasted just like the grilled cheese contests. In other words, like Elvis, quality control has left the building.

I called the IFOCE office this morning suggesting they toast the bread . It might or might not happen. In doing resarch, Elvis maid used to cook the sandwiches for him fried in homemade peanut oil and toasted. Too many of those during a course of a day will kill you . That along with too many krystals

BB, I apologize if this sounds like a dumb question, but did Elvis toast the bread first and then add PB & bananas? If not, how did he do it? Thanks.

I believe the sandwich was grilled in lotsa butter. I think Elvis once flew his posse to a diner in Memphis that made his famous sandwich. A bunch of recipes pop up when googled and most of them grill the sandwich..

That’s what I thought I read on BB’s site once. I think I’ll try that, but with the zero cal “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” brand, to cut down on the calories, so that my waist line doesn’t become more of a waste line than it is now.

Check out the cook book called “Are you hungry tonight?” All of the king’s favorite dishes and exactly how they are prepared. The pb and b sandwich is right up front. Even has step by step recipe for his famous wedding cake. Man, if the drugs didn’t kill him, the cholesterol would have.

Rohnda, try the sandwich with an ice-cold glass of chocolate milk — WOW! And, since you’re going to make the sandwich — go out and by some marshmellow spread and have a peanut butter and marshmellow spread sandwich for dessert!

Hey guys without sounding obnoxious typing in a copy paste link on eatfeats , i just had to plug this duet i sung with my sister covering an Elvis gospel tune from 42yrs ago on youtube . After hearing her sing they might just dump me dress her up as Elvis and fly her out to Misss. I swear this is no lie. She just heard of the song yesterday after asking her if she wanted to join my in the duet. It needed a boost and she gave it a big one. I expected her to hang the phone up and tell me she’s busy but i caught her in a good mood . When you listen it sounds as though she’s been singing the song for years and i sound as though i just picked it up. Its actually the other way around. Happy Birthday to the King and Nasty Nate Jan 9th http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbu5PRtNVs8

I think Beautiful Brian’s talent is right up there with Elvis’ talent. He should cut an album of the king’s songs. Seiken is nothing short of fantastic!!!!! It’s very nice of him to give credit to his sister. That shows he is a man of humility. Perhaps he’s the Elvis of a new generation. Think about it.

Thank you for the kind words. I dont know if you say that with sincerity or your just f—ng with me , regardless i will take the compliment. You read my mind for i was actually thinking of cutting an album featuring his songs. Bottom line , i came in as a competitive eater not a great one but i am still trying to get back in the game even at 50. When this whole thing started in 1997. it was just myself, Ed Krachie , Booker ,Krazy Kevin, George Shea and a few others doing some local Nathans contests .IFOCE was a figure of speech at the time. It didn’t come into full force reality until 3or 4yrs later. One couldn’t fathom rap, rock or Elvis playing a part in any of this.. I never thought about using competitive eating as a stepping stone for a music l career. Things just happened . I dont expect to get rewarded in a monetary sense just here to have fun and go with the flow

I am looking forward to meet you BB, angry or not. The field is sounding more and more fun actually. You and Booker need to work on a performance together, like an Elvis rap. That would make the drive all the more worth it.
