The Phantom Gourmnet twitter reports that Sonya Thomas will appear at the Phantom Gourmet Food Festival in Boston on September 26, the same weekend as the Krystal Square Off finals.

    According to the Phantom Gourmet’s website, Crazy Legs is scheduled to be there as well. Last year, Krystals had a contractual clause that said anybody who was competing in the finals had to be in Chattanooga for the entire weekend, which reduced the number of top 20 eaters at the Lewisville contest. If the same clause is there this year, it’s possible Legs and Sonya will not be at Krystals.

    I don’t believe a word of this until I “hear”/read it from either a Legs or Sonya source, or see it posted on the IFOCE site, because people don’t research their stories much anymore. The media will say anything.

    Then again, Sonya didn’t go to the finals last year, and there’s no guarantee some of the eaters who made the finals last year will earn a spot this time around. Isn’t the field limited to 12 finalists —- 10 after you take out Joey and Koby?

    I’ll still stick with my initial statement, however.

    The site for the event says Crazy Legs is going. Sonya never said she was going. The “Gourmet” must of got it wrong. I’m sure Sonya would love to attend — it sounds like a fun event and she thinks the world of Legs. But I think she’s going to busy that weekend.
