Sonya Thomas finishes 9 pound burger at BGR?

The twitter for BGR Burger Joint claims that Sonya Thomas is the only person to have finished its 9 pound challenge burger, which took her 22 minutes.

update Mar 15 Commenters have noticed that the online menu claims the burger was featured in an “I.F.O.C.” contest. (Ian Hickman won an independent 2008 contest at BGR)

The online menu also lists the total weight of the burger at 15.6 pounds, making it larger than Denny’s Beer Barrel Old 96er and the Clinton Station Diner’s Zeus challenge.

Anybody who voted Kate over Sonya when it comes to burger eating is an idiot.

Anyone who can only post anonymously is an idiot and a coward when challenging eating feats. And, no, I’m not challenging eating feats here. So don’t put me in that same category.

Grow up with the sonya juliet bullshit already. It was amusing five years ago when this site was starting out but at this point its downright stupid. What are you trying to accomplish? Get her goat ? She reads the posts but never replies back. What is the point? Either you hate women or you hate asians it is one or the other or maybe one of them beat you for some cash competing in a contest

Not an official “I.F.O.C.” competitive eating contest. Ian Hickman and Joe Podelsky (AICE members at the time) attempted it in May 2008. Interesting that their menu says that.
