this is WRONG !!!!1 SONYA Thomas lost to DALE BOONE on OCT 28TH 2004 in a 84 Baked Bean Qualifier
there were to be the finals BUT Boone beat all the contest winners by winning all 3 Qualifiers
    So redo your thinking

It wouldn’t be hard to break this streak.

OJ is still correct. That was not a qualifier in any way, shape, or form, regardless if it was mislabeled as one. There aren’t repeat winners in qualifiers, and Dale did win that event multiple times.

That was the only time Dale ever finished ahead of Sonya in any event, and even then it took a gallon of cool water, that only Dale had accesss to, for him to pull it off.

The only reason the 84 Lumber people went to 84 ounces from 8 lbs 4 ounces was because in the very first event on August 7, 2004 in Centreville, IN, Sonya was so dominant. Dale won the baby races. He’d reverse if he had to do 8.4 lbs.

I still remember him eating dogs against Carlene in that bonafide Atlanta qualifier. And I remember Pat smoking him royally the next year, again in his home town.

Even the very first time Sonya faced Boone, the 2003 Nathan’s Finals, Sonya whipped his butt. She repeated that in Corinth, MS using BBQ sandwiches—–Boone reversed. She whipped him again in DC eating jambalaya—–Dale reversed again in the preliminary round.

But I don’t blame you or anyone else for point out the only time Dale beat Sonya. It is indeed a rarity, and won’t happen again. So hang on to that precious memory.

Good point . The baby races are the 1 or 2 min contests. Hey anyone can get lucky and shove a bunch of food in their mouth in such a short time. Dale when you can beat Sonya or any other great eater in a 8-12 min contest then you can brag and boast. Hell in 6 min you got trounced by nearly everyone in the entenmans pie eating contest of 2004. Go dominate your fake league like the other farce league that lingers around

Yeah you’re right Anonymous 9:05, there must be a half dozen eaters in the world who can break such a streak.

Ah Rhonda who is definitely not Rona….Keep carrying that torch for Sonya. I was present for jambalaya and believe that was the venue where I hugged Legs for his efforts but told him that Sonya was my favorite eater.

Oh, so sorry, Rhonda. You’re wrong again! There ARE repeat winners in qualifiers. Back then at least there were. See: Rich Lefevre, 2004. He won the Nathan’s qualifiers in Hollywood, CA, and in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately I do not have at my disposal a list of every event and who won it. But it would make absolutely no sense whatsoever for any eater to be allowed to win more than one qualifier. They are not designed that way. The sole purpose of a qualifier is to determine entries in the Final for a given event. I’m sure you know this. Don’t you? If so, what’s your purpose here?

If you are using me and my “lack of knowledge of CE” on which to build your ego, you picked the wrong person, unless you are one of the MLE officials, and I doubt you are, because if you were, you wouldn’t be wasting your time with inaccurate, useless trivia.

Hi Rona! It’s nice to see a poster of your caliber and class on eatfeats. I am sure you are right, because I remember that being in Legs’ article that he did for a 2004 Topic article entitled “Stuff Your Face.”

That article is THE marker event that really, really revved up my enthusiasm for both Sonya and Crazy Legs himself. It was that article, and its tone, that made me realize what a wonderful sportsman your son is.

I remember, as if it were yesterday, one of the comments Crazy Legs received online. It was from Coon Dog O’Karma, who proclaimed to Legs, “Your one of MY favorite competitive eaters!” I don’t mention Coon Dog much here, but I gained lots of respect for him after I saw that.

    Wishing you a great day!
    Rhonda

Anonymous, 10:57: I would love to see Dale eat against Sonya with Baked Beans in a 2-minute contest today. She’d be all over him like a cheap suit.

I have a question for Sonya’s podcast. What is her diet during the week? Does she eat 50 Krystals or 39 Nathan’s everyday?

Do they even sell Krystals where she lives? I don’t think so.
