Congratulations to both of you, Steak and W-Kong. Steak, while there was no official previous record, since the event was Fed-sanctioned, you established one. And I have a gut feeling it will last for quite a while.

And I’m not being sheepish about that contention.

Congrats Steakbellie on your new Haggis record. Also, the bean record was established when Boone was an IFOCE eater. As of now, the record is officially broken. Congrats Wing Kong, Sorry Boone

WHo is Dale Boone??? Does anybody recognize this individual any longer except for himself?? Let it be known, there is a new Baked Bean record holder. The rest of Boone’s records will fall soon as well.

THANKYOU everyone for the kind words. There was video shot by the station and video shot by us. Once I can get ahold of it all I will post it. I cant wait for you guys to see Micah eating the baked beans, it was truly one of the greatest stunts I’ve ever seen.

WMMR.com has a podcast posted of the entire show.

you want the podcast of 10/08/08

There is also video and photos of the weighing process and I think that’s important to make available as well.

Strange, but I just couldn’t find a haiku reference for haggis…..one thing the Japanese have yet to discover, then tweak and Japanify it.

    For Wing Kong, Congratulations too!

I want to thank everyone for their support and guidance in making this happen…It feels great to finally be a thorn in Boone’s side after all the headaches he has given to other eaters in the past, especially the ones who are humble enough to listen to his crap and not lower themselves to respond to his rhetoric.

    Reindeer Sausage anyone??

Dale I’m saddened but not surprised by your typical sour grapes attitude. Think if everyone acted like you…sad world it would be. Did Michael Johnson act like this when Usain Bolt broke the 200 record??? No, and why didn’t he??? Because Records are meant to be broken and if and when mine is, I will try to beat the next guys time. Will I cry foul or resort to name calling, no, but I guess when you have screwed yourself by running your mouth in 2 different leagues it makes it tough to try and get it back. For those who want to see it the video is up. Boone, you can watch it too…

Amazing performance, Kong! Even though you did it alone, it’s highly doubtful anyone else would have beaten that remarkable time.

Boone, the event was sanctioned so the record is broken. deal with it. since i started, i would say half my records got broken by the awesome new talented eaters now coming up in the game and you don’t see me bitchin’ and moaning on eatfeats. give Wing Kong his props and keep it movin’

I’m impressed by that video. It reminds me of the spaghetti-o video you did for wing bowl (that was you right, if not, oops). It makes me want to see how fast I could do it; I have a feeling not nearly as fast!

    In case you forgot, Dale:

‘Dale picks a smaller spoon off the table and offers it to Sonya. “Need this?” “Maybe,” Sonya answers, putting it back down on the table. Then, with a dramatic flourish, Dale takes the small spoon provided to him, shows it to the crowd, and drops it contemptuously on the table. They have no idea what this means.
As Dave counts down from ten, Dale pulls out the giant serving spoon from beneath the flap in his overalls and smacks it three times against the table.’ (from Eat This Book, Ryan Nerz)

Seems like you change the rules whenever you want to as well.
Shut up and go do your WLOCE thing. Of course, you’re going to say this is IFOCE lying again.

I ate right next to you Boone in that contest back in the day and you had the advantage over us by using a big stainless steel spoon while we used the wooden spoons the sponsor supplied, which was all good since it wasn’t illegal to bring your own utensils. so Boone, when you won we wasn’t crying over you bringing your own spoon or what the beans came in, so why are you crying about it now. The fact is that the bean record has fallen. Deal with it! Y’know at least Half the records I set back in the day was broken and you don’t see me whining about it on EatFeats. You should show some class as a veteran eater and do the right thing and give Wing Kong his props! ‘Nuff Said.

Ive personally seen Badlands almost lose it twice since ive known him.If there were other times, i was not there to witness it. Both times involved the same person Dale Boone. Once in Buffalo 2003 when he tried to break up a fight between Boone and Coondog and the other time was Russian Pelmeni 2003 just one week later. Boone attemtped to extend a phoney handshake while the misery he caused in Buffalo was still fresh in Badlands head . He still managed to keep his cool . Boone had ten russian perogies clenched in his fist after the contest . George told Boone “Boone dont play with me open your fuckin hand” And there lied the evidence from a cheater. . Booker never whines about anything which is why everyone loves him. If you want to hear Boone at his ranting worst , tune into what will prob be the last episode of BB corner this weekend . BTW for all the BB haters that can only vote once,(and ill bet its just one or two assholes) stop stuffing the ballots with RIP votes from your friends PC , internet cafe or kinko’s . You must have no life whatsoever if all you care about is trying to beat out the “continue blogging” vote

Nice work Steakbellie, and Thank You, Wing Kong! Another blotch removed from the IFOCE records..The stock market is collapsing, I can’t pay the mortgage, my kids will have to be home-schooled for college, we still have a few more months for the worst president in history to completely wipe out our civilization, but today is a better day….thanks to our new bean champion, who won fair and square.
