Stephanie Torres removed from IFOCE rankings, Andrew Kogutkiewicz enters
A commenter noted that Stephanie Torres has been removed from the #21 spot in the IFOCE top 50, apparently for competing in the non-IFOCE burger eating contests held at the Lone Butte Casino last month. Andrew Kogutkiewicz enters the rankings at #45. His latest competition was a victory at the non-IFOCE Sheboygan Brat Days contest where he won $500.
Brad Sciullo competed as Eric “The Herald” Durst in the non-IFOCE Bartolini’s meatball eating contest in 2008 and was allowed to remain in the organization and win the San Gennaro cannoli eating contest. (He was later ejected for completing Denny’s Beer Barrel Belly Buster challenge burger. )

Correction OJ. Brad was removed from the rankings after it was learned he competed in the Bartolini meatball contest. He showed up in Buffalo in Sept 2008 and Ryan Nerz gave him the ok to compete. I was there to confirm that. There must have been some sort of screwup after buffalo because he was allowed to compete in Canoli a few weeks later. Brad won but never got a trophy because according to a reliable source Crazy Legs name was engraved in the trophy thinking he was a sure bet to win. Although i wasnt there to witness , the ssme reliable source told me the trophy was snatched from Brads hands by the former marketing director and told him ” Sorry I have to take that back till we make up a new one ” After reviewing Brad’s situation he was dropped from the IFOCE a week later and never re ranked

Anybody think that maybe this decision came after the IFOCE corresponded with Stephanie, or is it too much work? Perhaps it is what Stephanie wanted. She can certainly make more money, get more recognition, and have more fun as an independent than she can coming in fourth and fifth place at IFOCE events.

Before i comment, I’m just going to say this is speculation, i have no proof any of this is true. But….
We cant forget Stephanie Torres’s own personallity. She’s always seemed to be the carefee type which is very polar opposite to the rigidity of the MLE’s rules. I personally would not be surprized if she had part to do with the choice to leave. Not saying she wanted to leave, but maybe they offered her to stay if she forwarded them the $1000 she won breaking the rules, and maybe throw in some of her Nathan’s money as punishment, or keep it and leave.
Again, this is complete speculation, but given the situation that she was such a rare talent in the leauge and was kicked out after just one contest, I wouldn’t put it behind that she could’ve had a choice to stay. (with consequence)
Big reason i post this is also because i feel alot of Anon comments are going to dump on the MLE for this decision and i would just hope everyone could possibly consider this aspect.

MOTIF is right. Why blame MLE? Stephanie doesnt appear to be the type to fight back or for that matter explain herself . Do you think Stephanie has the smarts to go up against professional PR guys like the Sheas or Antolini to plead her alibi even if its a weak one? Dont get me wrong i am not saying Stephanie is by any means a push over and dont be deceived by her size but she does all her talking on the internet . I think an apology on her end might help or it might not but it sure better be a convincing one because when those guys make up their mind its a done deal

@MOTIF – You are right about her personality, but talking to her, She had no choice to stay… btw she didn’t even keep the money for herself. Let’s not put behind that just because Naader said medical bills, doesn’t necessarily mean her own. Just because most people have insurance, doesn’t mean everyone does and/or not every situation is covered by insurance. She did leave a hint in one of her post that family and friends come first and she was willing to risk something she wanted to keep. But, ultimately, it was her choice to go thru with the contest.
Very positive about life, gives people the benefit of the doubt, always taking time to look deeper or beyond.. has a lot of insight on whats important in life. Quite the writer, motivational.

Stephanie is an incredible young lady with a bright future ahead of her. She tried the MLE and decided it wasn’t for her. So what, at least she made the jump for a short while and you certainly don’t see her badmouthing the Sheas, the organization or the idiots who make hateful comments toward her.
Congrats Stephanie and best of luck in the wonderful world of Indy. Do as you please, when you want, where you want, with whom you want. Deliver many victories!!

Brian, you’ve got to quit perpetuating that stupid rumor about Crazy Legs’ name being engraved on the cannoli trophy. It’s not true. The IFOCE doesn’t engrave names on event trophies, even when it’s a sure thing, because strange things happen in contests. You’ve retold this story a thousand times mainly, I think, to rile up anti-Conti sentiment. Cut it out.

This is not Seiken posting but it is a fact that Conti name was engraved in the 2008 trophy for two reasons. Jarvis refused to give up his belt and Conti was considered a sure bet to win . So there !

in order for a contract to be valid both parties must have entered into it with input allowed by whoever is singing it must be notarized and you cannot be coerced or pressured in any way otherwise it is in valid .

I disagree 7:07. Looking at Conti’s record he is no sure bet to win anything! He rarely surprises on the upside and routinely surprises on the downside, and even way back when in Sonya’s first contest he couldn’t even win that and she was a total nothing and an unknown. More recently he couldn’t win a qualifier for Nathan’s this year, even when he competed aginst lower ranked people. So you say CLC was s sure bet to win cannoli in 2008? No, no.

Meredith Boxberger did half of Kobayashi’s amount in her first contest. (Sonya Thomas ate about a third (18) of Kobayashi’s then-record (50.5) in her first contest in 2003. She could make things interesting if she is not blackballed by the IFOCE for competing with Kobayashi and Pete.

Doubt she took quotes from Albert Jamus and Bertrand Russell – @5:38. Ever since I’ve been on her FB she has always displayed her own philosophy, poetry, humor, and wide range of music. Smart move not to argue with all the clowns. What makes you think shes fighting back on FB? To me it just seems like she is accepting what happened. She hasn’t even mentioned she was angry at anyone. Why should she have to defend or explain herself here? When most of us are not even posting our names. Who is she talking to? A bunch of people that hide and don’t have the balls to talk to her directly, that assume the worst in people without even knowing them. Try getting to know her, she is very positive about life. And I think that may be a reason she has not jumped into a negative crowd (here). Of course it was ultimately her choice and she very well knew what was going on. She isn’t even pointing fingers at anyone, or distraught like someone claimed. Fightguy did nothing wrong, but he didn’t have to keep trying to prove himself, and trying to prove himself to faceless posters at that. To me he was just trying to justify that he lost to a pro and not just some random girl. God forbid he loses to a girl in front of the guys. Dude, that was like her 5th contest or so, just get over the fact you lost. And if it wasn’t about the money for you, then why say you were hoping for a grand. It wouldnt have been this personal to you if you were just doing it for fun. She wasn’t even the only pro there. All the ones supporting her decision I can almost guarantee they know her and what she is really like, those that have negative things to say, probably havent even tried asking her why she did what she did or hasnt even tried getting to know her. All I know is what she responded to me when I asked her if she has read eatfeats then told her about some of the comments.. “you know what the funny thing is, she didn’t even keep the money. For all people think she was just trying to make a fast dollar, but I can’t blame them standing from their viewpoint. she knew what she was risking, but she was risking it all for the right reason.”
