    We all know Kobayashi will win this. No question about it. His 65 HDB’s compared to Pete’s and Goose’s 29 1/2 from last year. Should be a good battle for 2nd Place and 3rd Place. Anyone disagree??

    As OJ mentioned on twitter, the Derby is 12mins (or at least it was last year) and they also used Nathan’s last year (I hear from mutual Orange County eaters that they won’t be using Nathan’s this year though)… Either way, if Koby eats over 68 in 12 mins, there is gonna be a lot of debate on these boards… The rooftop deal I don’t think he ate 69, his final plate had 3 HDB’s left if my sight didn’t fail me, so if each plate had 5 HDB’s on it, his final number would have to end in either a 2 or 7…

    Either way it looks like Orange County is gonna be $10K in Koby’s pocket in less then a 5 week span.

    Umm, who said there was 5 a plate? Koby has put down 64 Nathans. That is probably the toughest 2 oz. hot dog there is. Your saying he couldn’t put 5 more of another type of hot dog. Really?

    ummm, who said I didn’t think he could eat 69? I merely said the ending number would have to be a 2 or a 7… After watching the video again it’s hard to say if he had one or two plates left with 3 HDB’s on them at the end because one plate is out of view. If That was the case then the correct ending number would be 4 or a 9. However it does appear that each plate had 5HDB’s on them… At this point it doesn’t really matter but, by your own admission it’s “another type of Hot Dog” and not Nathan’s. Apples and Oranges.

    “You’re” not “your”

    I’m an opened minded person. I went and seen what your talking about. By your admission you cant tell how many were on the plates. Why mention it? It kind of makes you look like a puppet for your organization. But did you just correct my grammar ? Really?

    Koby is a eating monster and myth all in one but until Guiness is there or he is back with the IFOCE his 69 HDB on a rooftop video is just that. He is still the man but whatever.

    @Damon Wells

    Koby ate 66 HDbs at the rooftop event. The plates he was given can be eassily counted, he was given 14 plates (70 HDBs). He had 3 full HDBs left and 1 bun from a prior plate, which can’t be spotted in the full lenght video of the contest because of the cups of water hidding it, but can be spotted in pics and in the short 2 minute video of the contest.

    He was given Nathan’s hotdogs at that event, or at least that’s what the organicers claimed.

    As for this 12 min contest, he will more than likely break 68, but who knows. I doubt it would arise anything but maybe a troll war to this blog (which will happen anyway). If Koby or Chesnut eat (under similar conditions) but one of them is given 2 more minutes to shove food in, one should expect the later beating the former. Other thing would be if koby eats 69 or more before the ten minute mark.

    One thing that intriges me the most is, given koby and chestnut can both eat between 65 and 70 hdbs in 10 minutes (Both have claimed to have actually performed better than that at practice runs), how many hotdogs could returning to the original 12 minutes possibly add to those total? Does 75 or 80 HDBs sound like doable to them? Because i know for sure that other high ranked eaters would’t add more than a handful of hotdogs or so to their totals (at best) even if they were given that 2 more minutes.

    The fight for second place will be interesting as well.
