Top 10 women’s poll choices
Since a non-existent women’s rankings have been cited by Suzilla, I thought I would set up an actual (albeit flawed) one. A list of current choices for a unified (will include IFOCE & non-IFOCE) North American women’s top 10 follows after the jump. Women were included in the list with the following conditions:
- They have competed in a public eating contest with a known result in the past two years
- They have another public competitive eating event (does not have to be in the past two years): another contest, qualifier, eating challenge or stunt / training session
In the comments, please list others (who meet the above criteria) you think should be listed. List members who do not want to be in the poll will be removed upon request. People who have announced retirement were not included. (I will add them if requested.) Voting will start some time next week.

Speaking of women, Maria Edible is the topic of discussion on BB’s new “bad assed” approach to blogging. There is nothing new about it.. Same blog, same attitude, same annoyance.

You know what’s gonna happen. Suzilla will get the most votes for #1 due to Boone and his three or four cronies who will vote multiple times over and over. Too bad for that to happen but it will. The poll is dead before arrival.

From what I’ve seen of Maria she’s a pretty good eater. She’s only been in, now, what, four or five MLE contests or so?
She’s bound to improve and she’ll soon be topping an even greater number of the guys than she does now.
Maria is a very lovely person with feelings and I am pulling for her to do very well.

I just visited B.S.’s site and what he does is awful. He publicizes people’s privacy and is the most disrespectful person in competitive eating. I honestly cannot think of one other person in any sport who brings as much disfavor to the relationships of fellow sportsmen and sportswomen. It’s like his intention is to inflict the blackest eye to as many competitive eaters as he possibly can. He is the opposite of peace and harmony.

Yeah, i can’t stand to read Brian’s posts. He spends so much time in his own head he feels like he understands and knows how everyone else thinks and feels. In reality he probably knows less then most people. Just avoid his site.

Rhonda is forgiving. That is her choice. Seiken simply is a blight on competitive eating. Predictable, adds nothing but hate. No other way to read it. If he did something good in the past, he sure is throwing it away again and again. He has to be completely stupid to think that his organization owes him anything. He is lucky he isn’t kicked out period. Any person in this world, inside or outside of any organization, sport, group, just average human beings, who is so calculated and cruel ends up having no friends and no family to support them. He does a damn good job of insuring himself against having any support. No one is perfect but he is such a loose canon that he is a danger to competitive eating, just makes it look like a bunch of kooks looking for trouble.

Reading Brian’s posts is like watching a crazy person scream at traffic on a street corner. It’s a spectacle but you don’t want to get too close. I believe 2012 is the year he finally snaps.

All the people whose photos are posted in his Tidbits and Small Pieces section or whatever the page is called probably wish he would take them off his site. I guess that’s what they get for not speaking their minds about him. Now, in essence, he’s holding them hostage. When you think about it, Seiken’s anger toward an eater is a good sign, as it often means that person is a very decent human being.

It is not fear that makes us anonymous, it is because BS/you just love to dismiss any negative comments made, rationalize them, attack that one person, point the finger at so and so. The guy actually wants people to believe that fans (as plural) “flock” to his site and he excludes himself as a hater. No, its eatfeats webmaster and its posters who are the haters according to him. I cannot imagine BS having even a single real follower unless they are new and temporary. Five or six years ago he probably had dozens but not today. He has lost more potential fans over the years than he ever had at his “most popular” time. Any eater who knows about BS will steer clear of him or wish they had. To know of him is to risk being abused by him. There are about two dozen plus people who would vouch for that. I hope Rhonda is right that he too can change. Is he too far gone or is there hope?

Of course everything does not have to be goody two shoes and cheery. It can be controversial and critical but not completely disrespectful and filled with gossip and hate and revealing personal things not meant to be shared using standard judgements of common courtesy, expectations that any friendship dictates.
No one wants boring always good for you rah rah. Yes, that too, support, but other things as well. But people who repeatedly trash the rules of respect should be criticized for that, period. And ultimately ignored and told to go away.

Personal attacks is when you curse out someone mother , engage in racism or poke fun at hardships people have to deal with on a daily basis. That might involve caring for a loved one or caring for a handicapped or underprivileged child. Get your facts straight when applying the term “personal attacks” . The attacks are for the most part within the realm of the sport and no where else. In youre warped mind a critique is defined as “personal attack” only because the name “seiken” is attached to it. If Seiken has anything nasty to say about anyone in the sport is because he has been the victim of some bullshit that did not sit well with him. or the victim of someone else initiating some form of slander against him.

Like someone else already said, might have been Rhonda, but when one or two people criticize you you cn blow it off, but when six, eight, or in Brian’s case, dozens of people say similar negative things, it’s time to pay attention.

While we are on the topic of BS, he is in the process of spewing his personal opinions of the top 50 ranked MLE eaters. One thing is for sure, 50 people will be dissing his hand shakes for sure at future MLE contests. There should be a poll for MLE’s top 50 eaters opinion of BS. That is, if any one cares.

I would say that in the IFOCE top 50, there are about 40 eaters that know of Seiken’s website. Of those, less than four would claim to be a real supporter of him if asked their opinion in front of their peers. Two dozen would shun him openly. The rest would say nothing out of fear of hurting his feelings, if they told the truth. That is about the size of it, of course he will state otherwise to save face.

Why is this thread being hijacked when its supposed to be about womans poll choices? It all started with anonymous 12:24 comment about Maria Edible which seemed to have gotten the ball rolling. 38 comments and counting which makes it quite clear you cant get the guy out of your’e system . When was the last time OJ posted a thread about Seiken? Bush administration perhaps? If this was a thread about Seiken which it’s not, then you have the right to express an opinion. Seiken has always promoted Juliet as the best woman eater in history. His favor goes to the female who he feels most comfortable with, and it aint Sonya folks. I think that since LMM has a good rep with him she is best in his eyes.
