Let’s add this to the conspiracy theory of Cherish. 11 years difference in their relationship. Very interesting.

@1133, yes very interesting. She’s also been at this so called mystery job for 8 months now! It’s the only job in the world that pays $500,000 a year for a few hours work a week, allows you to take off any day you want, and work whenever you want. If you had nothing to hide, why keep this so called job a secret?

I suppose Cherish has a “sugar man” versus the more typical “sugar daddy”? She still states she “works” but is secretive about what this high paying job is to support her escapades of fine dining and travel?

Kudos for her for expanding the “sugar daddy” concept in the opposite way. Sugar man?

Randy please start your own site where we can talk about good things people do in competition eating. You have a really nice way of your talking points. Let’s put this site to bed for good. Personally OJ had a good thing for a very tiny moment. Menchetti had a nice beginning but stopped the same time as this one began. Randy I wish the best for your family. You could make competition eating great again. I

1:54 – You have zero clue what it takes to run a discussion site like this and the work involved. Randy’s foodchallenge site is so out of date overall. Terribly managed by whoever is the web person. Do you really think he would undertake such a thing? Even if he did, he’s not the guy based on what I see currently. I don’t know who is supposed to be updating Randy’s site but they aren’t doing their job that’s for sure.

Hey guys she works. It’s such a good job too that she never has once come out and said what it is. It also has such flexibility it allows multiple times going out to eat a day, going on trips all the time, and buying new stuff. Must have to keep this mystery a secret at the risk of others applying for this fake job.

someone once said that “you’ll never work a day in your life if you love your job”.
It’s also true that you’ll never have to work a day in your life if you don’t have a real job and are fiscally supported by some other person or some other means/windfall.

Let’s stop glorifying people who can go to the buffet and eat three plates. My fat uncle could be considered a competitive eater at that point. So is he ranked higher than Cherish?

@ 1048 can you fat uncle place higher than cherish? She finished in the top 10 of women’s competition on the 4th of July with 7.5 HDB and is ranked 47th in the world. Some of these bum eaters aren’t even ranked!!! MLE4LIFE

When is Randy retiring from food challenges? Whatever happened to sexification 2024? Is he going to start playing video games and twitch it instead? Seems like a pretty big mountain to climb to actually make his degree pay at the same level as his eating career? I guess get your popcorn out and we shall see. I am skeptical he’ll ever retire from eating….

Replying to multiple comments at once:
March 19, 2025 will be my 15-year anniversary and around then, I’ll be switching down to posting just one restaurant food challenge video per week. I’ll post additional videos sometimes, but most of those videos will be filmed here at home in Nashville. I’ll then be able to focus more on starting my dietitian channel, Sexification 2025, further developing my book and nutrition education system, and other things. The main food challenge channels will fund it all for the first few years until I get it all up and going on its own. Then, I can fully retire, after getting to 6 more new countries (50) and completing a few other goals. I’ll likely get to 1,500 wins but not sure how many more after that.
There is currently nobody helping with FoodChallenges.com, and I haven’t added any articles for many years. One friend asked about helping and I still need to further discuss it with him. Scott Eats helps and lets me know which challenges are defunct, and I delete them, which is much appreciated. I update challenge pages after I attempt them, and add new ones as necessary with my photos and videos, but there does need to be somebody adding new challenges in general. Initially, the plans involved getting help from more eaters to keep the database updated, but like GetAClueMan, people would rather complain and moan instead of doing anything helpful / productive. It takes a simple message to me and a click of a button to delete defunct challenges from the FC database. I am not sure how things work here on Eatfeats.
Back to retiring… The original plan was to be finished by now, but also the original plan didn’t involve buying the house that Katina and I now have in Nashville. Upon that purchase, the new goal became to get the house loan paid off within a year, to get rid of the mortgage payment before I went down to posting just one video per week. Thankfully, due to a great 2024 for both of us, the house is now paid off and we are debt free again. I made the last payment in January. Taxes and living expenses in Nashville are minimal, which is a reason we moved here to Tennessee. I do know lots of people are skeptical that I’ll ever retire haha including my family. It will happen when I’m able to, with all my dietitian / nutrition stuff up and going strong. The transition can finally start now that we are totally fine if my income goes down. I don’t know what will happen with FC, and we will all just have to see what happens. Tough times are ahead for competitive eating and food challenges, that is for sure.

Randy–can you improve your website to allow functions to “report challenge as defunct” and to “Submit a new food challenge” ? It would be helpful for the users (us), to help keep it as current as possible.
If not, where do you prefer we message you with changes/deletions? Facebook, Instagram, somewhere else?

@152 – tough times are ahead indeed. For everyone except for the new GOAT Eli Lessig. His videos and sub counts put everyone to shame. Why is everyone else struggling so much and he does so well? It’s gotta be his innovative videos and his camera presence for sure.

TheGoatSpeaks: But Eli is crushing it bro! Wait. He’s the only one. Must be his unique videos? Is it FRAUD to pay to grow your channel artificially and then advertise how great it is after?

I found this site through a restaurant owner. Eli likes to give his numbers to good men’s wives when he travels. Stay out of my state.

11:33 – Daaaanggg! This is not the first time this type of information on Mr. Lessig has been stated here on this site. Maybe that’s why he’s paying to artificially become “da man” on YouTube rather than con restaurants into paying him to do fake challenges like Joel?

I have not made any actual updates to the site for many years. I only get a developer involved when something critical is broken. I can be contacted via lots of ways, such as IG messages, personal FB, or email addresses. RandySantel at gmail dot com. randy at foodchallenges.com too. Or to stay anonymous, you can just use the contact form on FC. I see everything that comes in, and get back to what I can, when available. It’s not possible to just let people delete stuff on their own since there needs to be checks and balances. Thanks for any help in advance. Really, the site needs to be updated with lots of improvements to become more user friendly, and lots on the current site removed. It probably won’t be me that oversees any of that though, since I need to focus on my dietitian endeavors.
I really don’t understand why there is so much Eli hate regarding his improving numbers and video stats. Most of the benchmarks being used to compare his numbers are super old channels, as in like 10 years old. I technically have 1.7 million YouTube subscribers, but that number is just how many people and bots have clicked the subscribe button over the past 14 years. The same can be said for other old channels. My number of active subscribers is probably quite low, since my goal is just to get over 100k views per video. Check the comments in Eli’s video with me and you’ll see there are A LOT of people who adamantly love Eli and passionately hate me haha. It reminded me of why I never check comments when in videos on the channels of Joel, Raina, or Brandon Clark. Eli’s channel is newer with consistent fresh content and he travels all over. Most importantly, he is consistently posting horizontal longform content. Most other newer channels are focused on shortform vertical content, which translates to needing sketchy crowdfunding (in most cases) to not need a “real job.” Eli is also one of the few “eaters” that restaurant owners always report a great experience with afterwards, when I go to a restaurant he has already been to. I just got done with a trip to Utah and Idaho and it was both funny and sad to hear from restaurant owners and managers about their experiences with fellow “YouTube eaters.”

February 11, 2025 @ 5:39 pm
The fact remains Eli’s numbers when actually looking at the data objectively don’t jive with the market and how his numbers continue to grow. Go look on SocialBlade and look objectively at the data. Randy you are also basically stating the reason is the rest of all the eaters are OLD channels and have crap content in comparison. That’s not the case at all. Nothing he is doing is unique or new or “fresh”.

Anonymous 5:39 I believe you are missing or at least undervaluing just how deadly a long break from posting videos is for a YouTube channel. Many of the older channels being referred to but not named have taken a long break from posting videos to stay relevant. One of the reasons my channel is still going is because I’ve never ever taken a break from posting for any reason in many years. I’ve posted at least two videos per week since 2016 for sure, and it maybe has been longer than that. I’ve never heard of a bigger channel actually being revived after a long break from posting. After a long enough period, those subscribers built up in the past basically become dead and YouTube won’t show any new content to them unless something newer really “pops” and could be relevant again. Consistency is very important, and might even be the most important thing to keeping a channel growing or at least relevant. As stated in a previous comment, there are a lot of people who love watching and supporting Eli, since he eats some really big challenges, gives back and supports charities when possible, and focuses on promoting the restaurants rather than being egotistical and all about himself. Each video is different as well, which viewers like, unlike mine which are systematic and could be seen as repetitive since the same timeline is always followed in each video. I might change my videos up a little when I’m down to just one per week. We will see.
Let me ask you this, what “good” or “benefit” would Eli get from buying views and subscribers? He has a family lol he isn’t 17 and just trying to impress some friends.

Randy: Fame and fortune of course! And, to pad the resume to get paid and do it full-time like you. Several reasons right there. I very much understand the market as it’s not just in eating with saturation. I’m sure you are too busy to do a deep dive into the data and analysis. Many channels are putting out constant videos in long form and they were not stagnant and revived and plenty of new ones too for data. And, the cross-market trends that are going on with Youtube regardless also factor in.

I’ve heard that Eli loves the sausage contests indefinitely. Held multiple type a year in different locations.
