I guess its proof that the first come first serve rule really is in effect. Seeing a talent far greater than me such as Bob an alternate is truly shocking. I just hope I can get flamed on the internet about gettin in.

After Humble bubs wing bowl performance he better be glad hes just an alternate as to save himself more embarrasment. Crazy legs has a better chance of winning than humbled bob.

Keenan Thompson’s going to host? It’s times like these I wonder why I left NY at all. See you on the webcast!

Pete… you know you really have no chance of winning this thing or even placing top 5… where as humble bob has an outside chance of winning this event… and is a definite contender to make top 3. You should give up your spot so humble bob can compete. The CE fans would much rather watch a competition with Humble Bob than the “Philly Guy” who’s a “rookie.” Do all CE fans a favor and do the right thing. Give up you spot to HB!

Oh my god, all you guys do is whine about how it’s only the top ranked people who get into these types of competitions, and now you’re whining about it not being all top ranked people. Good for Pete for being on top of it and registering in the small time slot that was available.

You call that internet flaming? Come on, you can be harsher than that. If Bob really wanted me to back out, he knows how to contact me and would say something. He didn’t so I’ll assume he has no beef with me getting the spot. The only one who has a right to bitch is him. There are also 3 other eaters he’s ranked higher than in the contest too. Its the breaks of first come first serve. Will I win? Most likely not. Will I put up numbers that are higher than most ranked eaters can get? Yes. People bitch and moan saying the IFOCE/MLE isn’t fair to the table enders. I’ve stayed loyal over the past two years and they treat me right. So the question is do you want prefered treatment to higher ranked eaters or fair rules for everyone? Now you’ll modify your arguement saying only 4 people got an auto bid and the rest were fair game. We don’t know how everything works in the background of the MLE, so we don’t know. Moral of the story is shut up and eat.

    Brilliant,
the same idiots who are complaining that only the top 8 get invited to these things are now complaining that a few of us table enders signed up. Philly Guy will do fine and deserves the seat because he signed up on time. Humble Bob should have signed up sooner if he wanted to be listed, thats how this game is played.

It’s also funny that instead of the constant ‘Wing Bowl is Fixed’ mantra, somebody is putting credence in the results, but only so they can slam Humble Bob over it. Unfortunatley the world will never know what really happened in Philly this year. Bob ate next to me and put on one of the greatest first rounds ever in Philly. He had perfect bone-dry wings in the discard plate, and ate more in that round than the previous record for a single round. It is my belief that Doc Simpson was equally screwed (not to mention the other MLE’s who made the second round, but with discounted numbers.)

Steakbellie… please do not resort to name calling. It is just my opinion that I would rather see a more competitive eater than the Philly guy in this competition. Look.. I am all for new guys and “table enders” in qualifiers and minor low key events that do not have television/webcast covereage, but this is a pretty major event with major prize money/winnings for the victor that CE fans will be able to watch on the web. Wouldn’t you as a fan (not an eater) want to watch guys you know and have a chance to win or place? How many CE fans really know who “Philly guy” is compared to Humble bob? Also, the signups for this went extermely quick so your logic of “Bob should have signed up earlier” is asinine. There is a good chance that Bob signed up a minute after pete. The qualifiers and lower tier eating events are for guys like pete to build up his name to get into the larger events like this. If other sports were like this we would have track runners in the Olympics who run a 10 minute mile because “they signed up first…” Give me a break steakbellie. You may be defensive because you have been a table ender for most of you CE career, but you have been moving up in recent competitions and have a Name in the sport, so you for one deserve your spot this time.

It kills me to agree with a Manitoba Meatsweat, but Steakbellie is right. Again. (Damn it!)

Chip and Bob were definitely screwed without a doubt. Remember that Joey was only 9th after the first round and nearly missed the cut as well. I don’t feel like I got screwed because I just couldn’t get in a good rhythm that day and was going at a slower pace than I had the previous year (in spite of getting great support from the crowd), but Chip and Bob were performing better and would have completed the top five (along with Joey, Pat and Sonya) if they hadn’t gotten hosed.

Pressure should not be put on a person to give up a spot to someone ranked higher because that is not fair. Pat Brtoletti was ranked in the botton third of the top 50 for awhile. You only improve by eating against better people. I for one get sick of seeing the same people finish in the top two or three everytme. Thats not news. Philly guy totally deserves his spot at the table.

Crazy Legs owns a typewriter . He has access to a PC at work but do you honestly think the man spends his time monitoring the IFOCE website for upcoming contests? Maybe Janus registered for him but that is another longshot. The easy solution would be for IFOCE to contact both of them and just let em in . If you disagree with this theory , then you live in some make believe world or a state of denial.

Booker or Jarvis might have an outside shot at winning the whole thing if they were in it but Boob well I doubt it even though he probably does have an outside shot for third and hes probably a shoe in for fourth..

Thank you for the support and well wishes. I’ll be trying my best Monday. As the saying goes don’t hae the player hate the game. Hopefully I can prove us table enders deserve a spot. From now on I’ll be going by my eating name the Broad St. Beefeater.
