US Open II on Spike TV?

It has been brought to my attention that certain IFOCE members more than likely pertaining to the the top 25 have been sent emails regarding their availabilty for an upcoming SPIKE tv special in Las Vegas which would span the course of 3 or 4 days during the early part of Oct.You would need to take a week off from work. Sponsors will cover your airfare and hotel expenses along with $1000 spending money. Sounds like U.S open all over again, but this time with no mention of lottery picks

Someone ranked in the top 25 informed me about this. A few names were chosen that were not in the top 25 or top 30 for that matter. I was not picked but that is not important . I was happy that Toro and Superpaul were considered and that makes me feel a whole lot better. Seeing some fresh faces other than Boone is a welcome addition. There was nothing in the email that stated “keep this between us” so one would assume this would eventually become public info .

I’m keeping my fingers crossed, my eyes crossed, along with my legs!!…..but, since i’m always drinking water, my legs seem to stay crossed….if they pick me, that may not be enough to maintain my current dry-legged status!!

I think the Spike special should be a battle of the legends and that Don Lerman and Beutiful Brian should be two of the headliners. Give others a chance you know.

You can bet that anyone that got that email and replied with an affirmative response will be on the show. They did not go down the line in order of ranking. They pick and choose who is right for the show and who they want to promote. Crazy Legs and Tim Janus got phone calls not emails and will be offered a substancially higher amount than the others because they are not only special but will also be given the choice of either competing broadcasting and or both. And i think to myself what a wonderful world !

“I’m sad to tell you that you have not been cast in the Spike shows in October” ..”Spike selected certain characters that in their eyes fit into the format that they have chosen. I’m really sorry..”
I think i’d be a bit perturbed if someone ranked lower than me got in ..we’ll see! 🙁

That event will be very interesting, because Pat B is coming on like gangbusters and he is as talented as Joey in my opinion. Sonya, Tim, Bob, and Chip are in the next echelon and not far behind. Has anyone heard who will attend?
Anyway, along with those mentioned above, I fully expect Crazy Legs, Hall, Humble Bob, Rich, Arturo, Erik the Red, Brad Scuillo and Tim Brown to be there, along with Juliet Lee. If I were running the IFOCE, that’s who I would have. I’d also bring Brian to assist in the coverage. He’s really good at that sort of thing, at least I think so.
I’m really at a loss as to why Pat Philbin won’t be there however, unless he is still suffering a bit of fallout from the Baby Bird incident. (The brothers Shea do have a long memory.)

I expected Philbin not to make it in because it would boost his fanfare with O&A. Sheas dont want him getting that extra promotion because it only helps his marketability and puts zero dollars in their pockets.Has nothing to do with the baby bird incident. BTW it wasnt SPIKE that selected anyone

I don’t see why Pat Philbin didn’t make it in. According to the I.F.O.C.E. rankings he’s #16 worldwide.
Is this a beauty contest or an eating event? Sounds like some good people are being left out.

If the Shea family has a long memory like a poster above mentioned (sorry I forgot your name already and am too tired this early to scroll back up 😉 ) then they should remember just what happened the last time they attempted to screw Pat Philbin over. All I can say is if the Shea’s have a long memory the Pests’ have an even longer one. And if Pat or O&A put out the word we won’t hesitate to go at them again just like we did last time.

What’s the point of an event like this if the marquee names aren’t going to be there? Pat & Russ are both Top 20 and have apparently been specifically excluded.
Is this Spike TV deal something that could cause the IFOCE rankings to change? If so, I’d be pretty upset to potentially lose standing because of an event I wasn’t allowed to participate in.
