Waffle House Championship in Atlanta Sept 3
The second Waffle House World Waffle Eating Championship will be held in Atlanta the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. In last year’s contest, Joey Chestnut narrowly edged out Sonya Thomas for his first victory against the Black Widow. This will be the second major contest held in Atlanta Labor Day weekend; the finals of Moe’s Burritos for Life will be held on Saturday at Georgia Tech.

Maybe Koby will come for this too. I just love the Joey Koby match-ups. Actually, I think that Koby spending more time in the states will make everyone a better eater.

I feel the same way Bubba. I plan on being there too. Do you know if they are planning on having the contest at Stone Mountain again? I suppose we are going to have to eat at least 25 waffles this year to take the title from Joey. I can do that with no problem. The contest is an hour long right? We’ll see what happens.

I don’t know if it is going to be at stone mountain or not. Last year it was held during the chilli tasteing thing, festival whatever. I’m prepared to do what it takes this year and I won’t have to drive far finally. See you guys at the contest.

Was all ready for the regionals this weekend…but oh well…see you in Atlanta. Going to chattanooga the 27th for Krystals.

Last year the Waffle House competition was BYOS I suppose. As you might guess everyone dunked the plain waffles into water/gatorade.

No syrup in sight I dunked mine in gatorade but I just might bring some dilluted syrup this time.

I was going to bring a mixture of hot maple syrup and battery acid, but they won’t let me carry it on the plane

Is this a trojan horse to raise blood-sugar levels which open up the small circular opening (pylorus) between stomach and the small intestine (duodenum)?

He Nothing But the Truth, this is America and Ken can use his over YOUR head English any time he wants. I for one am interested in what he has to say. Take your agenda elsewhere and stop acting as if you reflect the feelings of others on this site

Who’s going to Waffle House? How is it already filled up and registration is closed? I think I know of Todd, Hall, Bubba, SuperPaul, Joe Larue, CrazyLegs, and I assume Larry(ATL resident) and Joey(defending champ). OK, maybe that is a lot, but I am still curious about the other seven or so. Anyone know the inside scoop?

Translation – History has it that during the Trojan War the Greeks gave a giant wooden horse to their enemies, the Trojans as a peace offering.
The Trojans dragged the horse inside their city walls. Greek soldiers snuck out of the horse’s hollow belly and opened the city gates allowing
their fellow soldiers to come in and capture Troy.
In modern times in a mixed eating contest the pros could have an advantage over the amateurs if drinks other than the contest supplied water and container/cup is allowed. A pro could bring Gatorade/sports drink or large container of water sweetened with sugar/syrup. So far I assume no judge is checking to see if the Gatorade bottle is still sealed or taste the pro brought drinking fluid. The pro drinks his/her fluid to elevate the body blood-sugar levels which open up the small circular opening between stomach and the small intestine to allow more food to be eaten. If the pro won, the amateur(s) would never know or suspect this unchecked doping and trojan horse.
Are their any medical people out there who want to debate this?

Waffle House Fan,
The local radio stations always give away seats to listeners as promotion and Hype for the contest so I know they get some of the seats. In almost every contest a large portion of seats are passed out to locals only or local celebrities. This is the South and country music stations are big here and us Rednecks love Waffle House. If you can’t get in through registration call into a local radio station and try to get in that way.
