On this site negativity is the norm when Sonya & Juliet’s names come up. I have no idea why but its hard to change the way people think

29 dozen oysters sounds impressive. Does anyone know what weight that would have been? Stuart.

First, congratulations to Sonya, Pat, and Tim. My only surprise was that Tim finished third. I actually thought this would be a great chance for Juliet to finish ahead of him. Anyway, fourth against such great eaters is still rather impressive. Good job Juliet.

Why does the IFOCE insist this contest was 10 minutes. Was it not 8 minutes? And they wonder why CE is not an Olympic event? When they don’t take it seriously how can they expect the IOC or anyone else to?

Posting inaccurate information on Web sites in multiple locations for all to see makes them look foolish. Everybody makes mistakes, but is it too much to ask to verify the accuracy of information before posting?

Thanks Wild Bill. Your attention to detail in retrieving/keeping up with complete contest results is second to none! It looks like Sonya was only 3 away from 30 dozen. I actually thought everyone would eat more than they did, but being that the lesser quantities were across the board, I take it those were some big, fleshy oysters.

OJ I looked right at Hall’s picture in that gallery and I overlooked it. Thanks.

There was some debate as to whether we should list the exact counts – in the past, only full dozens were counted. As there were no ties, it didn’t really matter how many more over the full dozens were eaten. I just thought everyone should get credit for their full amount.

    The oysters were huge.
