Juliet is a cheat, just not a good one today………..this time she couldn’t cheat as well as she needed to. Being reprimanded by George because of spitting into cups and then chipmunking at the end wasn’t enough to pull the wool over Mr. Sheas eyes. Awesome call by the judge. Payback sucks! Penalized “2” based solely on principal so the wildcard could not be attained is beautiful. Excellent job X!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so who gets the 3rd slot in the wildcard? 49 would be the top number for the 3rd slot

George was nice. Juliet should have been awarded a 4 or more point reduction for spitting her product back into her cups. The other eaters had to swallow theirs. Now Juliet is throwing a temper tantrum and begging IFOCE to turn a blind eye to her cheating this time. If IFOCE lets her in the finals, then Dale Boone would be considered the honest one.

When, please tell me, when was Bubba Yarborough ANY more than the backwoods redneck loser that we’ve seen basically since day one. Too bad that he could never even come close to beating Juliet Lee anywhwere, anytime, as far back as the database can record. So he, like most of the real losers, anonymous or not on this site (who obviously are never there-and have no clue) he seems to take such great pleasure in slamming someone he doesn’t even know.

But he IS really is the poster-boy for hatin’ on dem damn chink bictches. Have ya got the Stars and Bars flying yet tonight?

It’s so much easier to trash someone you’ll never beat, but trying to be at least objective and learn a few facts (as much as can with your educational issues) might allow you to come off with just a little bit of credibility. Oh….never mind – I think we all know about your credibily.

Apparenly, from what I can figure out here, we hate Juliet when she wins, and now we hate her when she loses. That would seem to satisfy everyone, right? The worst possible outcome is that maybe she stays home, but that’s clearly not a fun possibility, because if she’s not around, there’s really nothing to cry about. She does have one amazing ability apparently, she excites all the Trolls on this site more than anyone in the history of CE. That’s why, I guess, so much gets written about her, good and marginal. Just remember boys, if you don’t have Juliet, the rest of you lose. If you can’t undertand that, well maybe you should consider keeping your mouth shut and appreciate the interest she generates for the sport.

Even in a no dunking contest , she tries to find a way to cheat and leave debris in a cup. Nothing should ever be passed back to the cup when drinking. If she keeps it up, someday the eaters will be forced to drink through straws

She’s a good eater. It’s too bad she feels this compulsion to cheat to place a little higher.

Kudos to Krystals for the no dunking rule and to George Shea for catching and penalizing her.

She’ll feel better now because the IFOCE will give her an opening into the already full pizza contest on Saturday. Now she can get some prize money from the others, unless she fills those cups with pizza for deductions.

Wow. I wonder if George knew that giving her a two point deduction would cost her a spot in the finals. I’m guessing he didn’t, otherwise he probably wouldn’t have done it.

For judges to be effective, they must remain (assuming they’re that way to begin with) unbiased. Otherwise, they can’t effectively do their job.

Deductions don’t occur often, but they do happen. They have to be an integral part of the game. Otherwise, sloppy or rule-unabiding eating is rewarded, which, in effect, punishes those who eat by the rules.

From what I have seen there is no one eater who eats stricly by the rules 100 percent of the time. CE is not a precise game, and theres always a certain level of subjectivity, to varying degrees. But after you watch / judge a plethora of contests year after year, it becomes obvious which eaters continually push the envelope to explore tactics they can use to maximize points / totals without getting DQ’ed or excessively penalized. They become the focus of attention.

That’s the bed they’ve made and the one they have to sleep in until they change the sheets.

But Juliet will come back from this. She’s seemingly immune from verbal attacks, and if she isn’t at the Krystal finals, she’ll likely be the Upper Crust Pizza Champ in Boston next Saturday.

I agree with Wing King. Juliet was lucky she was not DQ’ed. Any other table ender would of been DQ’ed. Until IFOCE takes a stand and starts DQ’ ing the upper ranked eaters, then the cheating will continue. A slap on the wrist is a joke when 20 and 50 thousand dolars of prize money is at stake.

I wish some more of you would come out of the woodwork. As far as debris and liquid. Juliet’s rolls apperared soaked with traces of red liquid just before the bell rang in the cheestesteak contest. They should enforce the rules . Liquid should not be touched unless it is used to wash the food down and nothing else

Was it just debris or was it clear that she was doing it on purpose? How much debris was in her cups? What was her reaction after the penalty was announced?

I’m not suprised this happened..as issues arose at Cheesesteaks as well. When my friend, who has no clue about CE, viewed Gavonnes video, she said “that chick can eat, but it looks like she is cheating!”. I said nothing about Juliets eating that day, this was just off of observation…

    Here is I:

As a late entry into the Five Spot Famous Philly CheeseSteak Fest, “The Lovely” Juliet Lee didn’t disappoint by downing 4 1/3 10″ Philly CheeseSteaks in 10 minutes in front of the energetic Labor Day Weekend crowd.

In what turned out to be a close race from the opening whistle, Juliet staved off competition to her left and right in the forms of Micah “Wing Kong” Collins and Pat “from Moonachie” Philbin. When the results were ultimately tallied, Philbin saw his hand raised as the 2nd place winner with 4 cheesesteaks and Wing Kong settled for third place after consuming 3 7/8 sandwiches. Up and comer, Jon “The Icebox” Lapolla out of St. Paul, MN just missed the money finishing in fourth place with a respectable 3 3/4 sandwiches consumed.

I’ve been here longer than a day, and my observation is factual. Actually, if you watch Gavonnes video, you can see me glancing over at Juliet throughout the contest. Oh…I’m the one in the White Oakleys.

Icebox, Icebox…. Just because you can whip up a newspaper-like story using a thesaurus, doesn’t mean you’ve been here longer than a day. Relax kid, those biceps could use a little more mass anyhow. Stick to bodybuilding.com. And, by the way, in order to be considered a bodybuilder, one must compete in an actual bodybuilding competition. Which shows have you taken part in? If not, you’re as much of an ‘eater’ as that Fry guy that continuously posts, but doesn’t ever show up to competitions.

I would tend to believe that most of these anonymous posters that take pleasure in tearing others apart such as Lerman, Juliet BB, just to name a few, are eaters or individuals that have been involved at some point with the IFOCE. I dont believe the sport has reached a level where outsiders or fans of the sport are posting these nasty remarks.

Pat X – It’s kind of irritating that you make a blanket statement that all eaters cheat. I have eaten directly next to Hall Hunt (who puts down bigger numbers than Juliet) twice this year – and he doesn’t drop so much as a crumb. Not only that, he dod Krystal with clear Zephyrhills water bottles. So you can watch the video yourself to verify that he did not use the “technique”

I am in my first year eating – seriously at least – and go out of m y way to eat very cleanly. So there are plenty of honest eaters out there.

The videos for both Nashville and Knoxville are up on the Krystal Youtube page (http:www.youtube.com/krystalloverslounge). It does not look like from the Knoxville video that Juliet did anything egregious. She stuffed 2 Krystals at the end and although her mouth was jam packed it was not hanging out. If there was a controversy, it must have happened after the stuff, from the writeup it sounds like she could not swallow what she stuffed in a timely manner. I would not call that cheating, just trying to do whatever it took to get in to the finals – it didn’t work out for her but I can’t blame her for trying to do what she had to get in – that is not cheating.

The folks that make these over-under lines must be going crazy regarding what the wining total might be. If it were me making the O/U line I would use 80 points.

You’re right, Erik – I saw exactly the same thing, which was nothing. I don’t know what the raging “controversy” is about, other than what I’ve mentioned more times than I care to think here. It’s all about slamming someone because you don’t care for them or feel like you’ve got some issue, but mostly just because you can.

I haven’t said anything because I didn’t know any more about what happened than 99% of the commenters on this thread until I saw the video, and I try to make a point of not talking about something I don’t know anything about it. Obviously, it’s much more fun to accuse Juliet than actually find out what happened. She’s owed an apology but you’ll never see one here.

It’s pretty clear to me that what happened was just what you said – she just couldn’t swallow fast enough. I think that’s pretty odd though, since I’ve seen other eaters struggle exactly the same way at the buzzer, including at Nathan’s. In this case, it looks like it might have been a little of “a makeup call.”
