With that total, I don’t know if Tim would have won or not, but given the recent surge of that great up and comer Stephanie Wu, I think she would have topped Sonya. Sonya must be shaking in her boots out of fear that Steph will join the IFOCE.

Wow, that was really close. Great for Booker and Sonya. My favorite photo of all time is the one where Booker hoists Sonya to the confetti and rafters after she won Wing Bowl. I loved reading what she wrote about that contest.

I don’t mean to discount the abilities of any other competitive eater. Sonya is more amazing than we giver her credit for. She does so well, so often, against the best in the world, that we take it for granted that she is supposed to always finish near the top in every contest, regardless of who she is against. Not only does she do that, she sometimes wins. She has got tto be one of the greatest of all time. I wonder if she really knows that.

Wrecking Ball – ignore the hate, it’s always gonna be out there, on EFs and in life itself. Just continue to do your best each and every time & don’t ever let your enthusiasm fade!!! Not every contest is going to be a stellar performance, but are you having fun? That’s what matters in the end. I, for one, know I’m never going to be a great eater but each and every time I’m at a table, I give it my all and ALWAYS have a great time! 🙂

Congratulations Sonya and Booker on a job well done! Anything close to 20 moonpies in 8 minutes seems respectable to me, and you both nearly doubled that. The rest of the folks who ate 30 or thereabouts (Sean, Aaron, and Adrian) did a terrific job.
I agree with A-7:55’s comment. I feel embarrased FOR OJ to have such off-color trash on this web site. It serves no constructive purpose, and really cheapens an otherwise fantastic web site.
No wonder the better eaters don’t (or rarely) comment here.

Does anyone have the final totals for everyone who competed at the Moon Pie Contest. I can only find the top 5 totals.
I will agree with Rhonda, for Booker and Sonya to get close to 40 is amazing. Moon Pies are tough to eat….so dry and chewy. Even getting close to 30 is fantastic.
It is also nice to see the “younger” or “less experienced” eaters cracking the top 5. Who knows what another year or so of experience will do for eaters like Adrian Morgan and Aaron Ostoff.

This is not the place for such postings. I urge OJ to stop allowing these way off topic postings, at best. In fact, at this point I recommend a temporary halt and not allowing postings from Gavonne, Beautiful Brian and US Male or else make another abuse room where people who enjoy reading people abusing each other can hang out together. It demeans this website horribly, takes time away from what OJ does best, and it is airing horrid dirty laundry, whether truth or lies, and has no place in the public competitive eating community. If BB.com wants to have postings like these, that is his choice. People can choose to go there. I am really disgusted by this. None of the three so called men are acting like grown-ups. Aside from U.S. Male who is actually a competitive eater, comments from and about the other two losers belong somewhere else. But even U.S. Male should consider doing a little growing up. If dim-witted morons like these are not allowed to post here, they’ll hopefully take their trash somewhere else. This has been a great site for years – I hate to see it degrade into this. At annoy 1044, luckily for me they didnt count any plates other than the top 5 so if you were to hear any other totals none would be “official” just what the eaters have claimed. I know I talked to the guy who was picked from the audience to participate and he ate four! I dont know his name and he definatly was not a competitive eater.

Trying to get a letter to the postmaster general is like trying to contact Obama. The only time the postal service gets involved with one of their employees outside activities is when they have been arrested for any reason . The postal inspectors then notify the employees direct supervisor and the supervisor questions the employee briefly but thats where it ends. US male has not been convicted or arrested for any crime . This is basically some nut making an off base accusation that he was threatened on a blog that has nothing to do with the postal service. . I think gavonne is running out of ammunition. I guess his next plot is to superimpose naked pics of stephanie Wu sitting on US male face

Also, WB, yes, I totally agree about Badlands being someone you would not want to be on the wrong side of. I didn’t include him only because of his calm, humanitarian-like temperment and self-control. But if the man ever did “lose it,” Eric could dish out more pain than any of us could stand. Thank God for all of us that he’s a gentle giant.
If given an “equalizer” you could also put me on that list.
A few years ago a large male acquaintenance of mine tried to hurt me physically. He had a bad temper and I had to defend myself or I could have been hurt badly. So I picked up a piece of wood and hit him over the head with nearly all my strength, before I realized the stick had a nail protruding from it. He started screaming and I saw lots of blood squirting from behind his right ear. Seeing all the blood scared me and I rushed to get the guy medical help. I didn’t intend to hurt him that badly. All I really wanted to do was protect myself.
As it turned out he was fine. He never bothered me again.

I dont think this was ever proposed nor do i believe it will ever occur in this lifetime but i would like to see some of the big name eaters step up to the plate and share some of their prize money with other eaters at the table. Especially the eaters that have never earned a dime competing. while spending their hard earned cash on airfare and hotel reservations. Since the inception of prize money at IFOCE events which goes back to 2002 i have yet to witness anything like this. It would be nice to see Pat, Joey, Sonya , Bob to show that act of kindess and say “Hey you know what john doe, heres $150 for your time and effort. You not only score points in the humanitarian dept but you score points with the organization and the person you are making the offer to. When i finished third in watermelon in dayton ohip 2004, Rich Lefevre won $1000 Carlene finished 2nd. There was no second or third place prize money. but as husband and wife its obvious they shared the purse I think? Rich never offered a dime to me or Subich who finished 4th. I thought that was not only selfish but cheap as well. I have never pulled in any kind of signifigant dollar since ive competed but i would surely part with some of my prize money to others that competed and finished out of the money. Some of yo should take stock and think about this. Its the best investment as opposed to giving to a charitable organiztion and not knowing if your donation is being recieved by the proper channels.

Brian, why must you always revert to your default personality of trying to make trouble? Given your tone, you make it seem as if money earners are EXPECTED to give part of their money away, and that by not doing so, they’re the bad guys. That’s just wrong, no matter how you slice it.
I agree with SI. It’s on MLE to set the prize structure.
Again, all who participate in Fed events know the prize structure going in, who the participants are (or they can find out), and they know their own strengths and weaknesses.
The Sheas run a business, and it’s not the business of charity, because they want to attract the top eaters. For the most part, they do that. Those who don’t like it can either stay away or just participate in local MLE events to minimize cost. Another choice is to leave MLE and eat at picnics—-local, of course, to keep costs down—-to compete for stuffed animals. Local challenges can also be personally rewarding.

Seiken says that he is on good terms with Sonya and Bob and maybe Pat, so why not ask them directly? Hard to imagine that any of the eaters except for Joey are making money. Look at all those below this list and how little they made, if anything. If you deduct their expenses, they are in exactly the same position as Seiken.

You think its superb sportsmanlike conduct for an eater to hold a big fake check in the air jumping up and down with a big smile on their face while others spent hundreds of dollars on airfare and hotel and gettig nothing in return. Did i hit a nerve with you Rhonda? Or maybe you are one of the top ranked eaters that feels guilty about what i just said. Dont bring the Sheas into the convo because this has nothing to do with them ok? They set the prize structure and i see no problem with that. Now its up to the prize winners to show some love every once in awhile. Do you ever tip a waitress after dining out in a restaurant ? I guess not. As far as the Lefevres anyone that eats at buffet and takes a load of breadsticks or anything else (made to EAT IN ONLY) concealed in paper napkins is cheap in my estimation. Are all the haters ready to chime in. I expect at least 50 !

There is something out of whack in your thinking. To call anyone with an opinion different from yours a hater makes no sense. To say that Rhonda Evans has no standing because you cannot track her down is also out of whack. Showing a little love to other eaters from you is something I have not read here. If you have no problem with the Sheas prize structure, you should have never even made the suggestion. There is no hate here, there is a strong suggestion that you rethink your opinions. You are welcome to them, but slamming other people in the process makes it hard to understand or be sympathetic to your message. How many people comment on your blog with their “real” names I have no idea. The way you write here doesn’t make me interested in finding out or in reading yours. Your I could care less what you or anyone else thinks makes no sense. If you didn’t care at all, you wouldn’t even be commenting here.

Yes Brian I tip waitresses, the few times I eat out: 15-20 %. They perform a service. Tipping is expected.
Let’s take your logic a step further. Let’s say you and 11 other eaters are at an event, and that Joey, or Pat, or Tim, or Bob, or Sonya, or whoever, wins first place and goes up to any eater besides you and says, “Hey … here’s $100 to help for your traveling expenses.” Brian, within 5 minutes after you discovered you were left out, you’d resent that do-good eater, and bring attention to it on your web site.
There’s no way to win with you Brian. You elicit your own haters, and I must say are very, very adept at it.
However, I don’t hate anyone. I may despise WHAT they do, but not people themselves. I like you BB. I just can’t stand the way you behave sometimes.

Any competitive eater worth their salt would rightfully resent and find it demeaning that some other eater would give them $100 for showing up. It’s a competition, you win, you win the prize. Everyone knows that going into an event. Today Drew Brees gave Brett Farve $10,000 for playing a good game and losing in the Super Bowl. What an insult. Give me a break.

Brian I am sure people are not out to get you, or trying to drive you crazy, just for the sake of doing so.
None of us are perfect, especially not me, and sometimes if several people tell me the same thing (even on this site) I try to use that insight to help me become a better individual, as stubborn as I can be sometimes.
Is there not one kernel of information SI and I are conveying that you can use? Incidentally, he is not being mean-spirited, but constructive, with his comments. Yet you continue to attack. Are you never wrong?

Brain, you know who I am but I like my alias better. I got nothing but love for all the eaters out there but one. I am a table ender and that is not going to change but I am hooked on the whole thing. The travel, the crappy hotels, the food, the bars, the people. If i ever manage to make it in the money I would more than likely piss myself being so happy. But the best thing I ever got was when my friend brought her little boy who hated me to watch and after I got crushed in hot dogs he came up and hugged me and told me I was awesome. Enough to make a fat man almost cry. And hey I would gladly take a hundred bucks for gas money any time, maybe even a pitcher of beer. But Brian you know you do this for the love of it. The interaction with the crowd. You love to perform and get that small taste of fame.

I think Brian once won $25 but am not sure. He did have a pay per view for some of his video interviews and offered other items for sale which some people did buy. So yes indeed, Brian has earned money via competitive eating. Unfortunately many of the eaters who still find competitive eating to be fun do not comment here because there are too many Brian type posts and too much negativity. It should be a forum for those eaters who do not have fun all of the time, who want to discuss things and perhaps even band together. Instead, the site gets hijacked by Brian and becomes a soap opera. If someone praises those who win, the Brians say blah blah boring. You have to wonder about someone like Brian who just keeps coming back punching wildly. He obviously gets something out of this. Perhaps it is his way of trying to make eatfeats less desirable for those who want to read it. He is predictable and boring but still gets lots of responses including this one. Time to ban him. Enough already.
