The MLE facebook lists some expected entrants in the Lewisville, TX tamale eating contest: Tim Janus, Sonya Thomas, Erik Denmark, Bryan Beard, Kevin Ross, Adrian Morgan, Nick Bauer, Kobi Bauer, Gary Klucken, Donovan Busta & Aaron Ostoff, fourth place finisher in last week's bratwurst contest. update The Dallas Observer reports that Nate Biller will also compete.

    Its obvius he gets his travel paid for. Look at all the contests he skips verses the ones that he goes too. Probably the last time he paid to travell was to crawfish where he either split a rental car, took the bus/train. We all know how upset he got after when he did not get a prize and wanted the winners to share their money so peoples’ expenses would be covered. As for Pete he practicaly picketed outside the Fed in one of his famous grilled cheese, whining sandwich boards. Yes I saw the pic of his whining, look at me, sandwich board.

    Well, I know he didn’t pay to go to the Krystal finals last year, or to his Nathan’s qualifier or the finals this year, and I know he got flown to Japan. So that settles it. He gets flown everywhere.

    Lots of hot air being blow around, I am unable to log in as other than anonymous at the moment. I doubt that X reads eatfeats at all. What’s the big beef against him and how many people, fans and eaters keep contributing to this issue? If you are an eater and have a problem with what X gets, why not take it up with IFOCE. Or would you rather waste your time complaining here? Not an eater am I.

    Okay, I get it perhaps. This is Seiken’s whine and moan. I do not think it is anyone else’s. Seiken says repeatedly good luck with contacting Sheas because he doesn’t get what he wants from them. This is very old news and now I am drawn into again allowing Seiken to hi-jack this thread. Everyone who was lucky enough to entertain the troops, a great honor, got flown there of course. What’s wrong with this picture? I am. Done commenting about X and his trips and his whatevers. Everyone else can do as they like. Can we PLEASE get back to competitive eating???

    We are thrilled to have a great field coming to Lewisville tomorrow. For the record, we’ve never paid anyone (including travel costs) to attend this event except for cash prizes to the top six finishers, and never been asked to. We did provide one extra hotel night for Eater X three years ago so that he could appear on one of the local television morning shows and promote our event, at our request.

    We would love to have Elvis with us tomorrow, and hope to make it happen next year. Communication problems on our end got in the way this time. Sorry, Brian.

    We’ll post results tomorrow afternoon here and elsewhere. Should be a terrific competition. Hoping to see a serious challenge made to the world record of 71 tamales in 12 minutes. 🙂
