Wow. The top six finishers shattered both pickle records by over a pound. It would have been interesting to see how Brian would have performed. May be that he would have pulled the upset. You never know.

I would like to send out a big congrag to Pat Bertoletti for accomplishing what i consider the impossible . 5.75 lbs???? Incredible to say the least. Regardless of whether they were sour dill from the jar or sour garlic, pickles are pickles and there is just about so much you can eat. Pat & Bob you have no idea how honered i am that my hat and bib were displayed at the contest. A big shout out to Sonya 5.4lbs who just missed the big pickle. I think she really wanted this one. Cant say enough about Hall Hunt whom i showered with advice but finished with a very impressive 4lbs . Good job by everyone that competed including the not so familiar names who eclipsed my record yet! Just shows that records are made to be broken . Time to ring out the old ring in the new. One more thing i might add. Unlike a few others i am not bitter that someone else won the pickle crown. For those of you that think your titles should be preserved forever just because you think youre something special or think that for some stupid reason the IFOCE should preserve it out of respect, stop being selfish get the shit out of your ear and let the new kids get a crack at it

The reason Lermans records have not been broken as of yet is because the Sheas feel sorry for him and he would end sending them the nastiest emails you could imagine

I doubt that the Sheas feel sorry for Don or are afraid of his e-mails. It seems the pickle contest developed from the sponsor. People attribute too much thinking to the Sheas. Their approach is pretty straightforward and they make quick decisions. If something clicked for a contest about other records, they would do it regardless of who holds a current record.
