The MLE facebook lists Sonya Thomas, Aaron Osthoff, Crazy Legs Conti, Pat Philbin, Eric "Steakbellie" Livingston, "Wild" Bill Myers and Yasir Salem as expected competitors in Saturday's Nathan's qualifier at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. Bob Shoudt, mentioned in previous previews, is not listed.

I’m quickly learning that a modified fast (protein only) isn’t the best training for competitive eating ..those cheesesteaks hit me like a ton of bricks ..well, 11 bricks to be exact! 😉

Osthoff is a good eater, but we’ve yet to see him do HDB’s, so he’s kind of the wild card in this field… It’ll be a close battle between Legs, A-train, Philbin and Steak, IMO they all have the capability of 22-25 HDB’s.
Jason, if you’re reading this, please do the right thing and eat properly, all you’re doing by making a mess and cheating is embarassing yourself…
If he pulls the same crap he did last year in San Jose and Escondido and it costs somebody a win, I really hope one of you speaks up.

Some one should bring a spaghetti strainer and dump Conti’s cups in them after the contest before any hasty decisions are made. If George Shea is running this qualifier, he won’t stand for any BS. That’s how Bryan Beard won last year. If the hotdogs at AC are prepared like they were the last 2 years, expect low numbers.

fasts never help. It might give you a head start when the bell goes off but if you dont have capacity it catches up with you at the end. Burps are only good for a breather or two and might get you an extra dog in the process

Remember one thing everyone, CrazyLegs has been to the finals at Coney Island since 2002. He has helped this sport grow in popularity just as much as Kobayashi and Joey. One bad contest last year is hardly enough crime to keep punishing him. He’s a game time player and I hope he will pull this one out tomorrow and come home with the trophy. Oshtoff is new without a personality, Philbin is a classic veteran, and Steakbellie is just loved by all….BUT it is CrazyLegs that needs the win in AC, to not only gain the confidence back of the haters, like the stuttering loser A-Bomb, but for himself. Regardless, of what some of you people may think, Legs is an integral part of our sport and will forever be embedded in the world of competitive eating.

They wouldn’t allow me in the spray zone but then again no media was allowed there from what I saw it was just me and ac weekly. I didn’t see any funny stuff on crazy legs part but there was a ton of debris in the surrounding area. After the bell it appeared that he picked up some of his debris from the floor and continued eating for a few seconds. Look at the video you be the judge

Legs has been cheating and lying about his totals for a decade.
How do u attempt to eat 28 hdb’s & get credit for 22? THAT IS CHEATING. No one besides maybe Juliet eats that messy.
Also, i’ve never seen anyone penalized the true amount that they should be penalized, so in losing 6 hdb’s it was probably more like 8-12.

After 8 yrs its still going strong where others tried to duplicate but gave up within less than a years time. Sonya still keeps her site around but her longevity is based upon her eating ability and not about reporting controversy. I wish i was as great an eater as she is for if that were the case i wouldnt have to rely on BB.com to report my winnings for someone would be there to cover it for me
