The tamales were the same weight, about half an inch shorter. They were softer than in the past (new vendor, different recipe) which contributed to higher overall numbers.

Comparing the common eaters and their results, it sounds like the tamales were smaller this year. This one of the issues of comparing results, even in the same foods.

Without Sei ken there no video and no real competition

The tamales were about half an inch shorter, but the same weight (2.5 ounces per unit). Biggest difference was this year’s were softer and appeared to go down faster, possibly contributing to higher numbers.

We recorded the entire event and will have video link to share sometime next week.

Brian is suitably joking about himself winning, I am sure, but how can he do good camera work, produce a good video and compete at the same time? Seems strange to me.
