No one “wins” by a half bite, you could just shove that much in your mouth at the end..some eaters shove a dog or more. And sometimes they take off for debris & sometimes they don’t. They need a better system.

With Miki performance it just proves all along that Toro protege and MLE number one draft pick Stephanie Torres was nothing more than a big bust. that could not cut the mustard. After all these years you would think the video production aspect of Major League Eating would be at full circle by now. Still have to depend on a cell phone camera with choppy footage if you can even find that. Eventually videos of the contest will surface but long after the fact. Maybe like after the Nathans finals? Congrats MIKI!!!!! I knew you could hit 40!!! And a wonderful job done by Jeff! Great job to all the debuts. It was great to see all the high numbers. As far as people saying things as to what they think they know about me, that’s fine 🙂 It’s ok for me to be cheated at the finals, but not ok for me to go my own way? I do/did appreciate the opportunity I was given, it’s just not the opportunity for me. I didn’t seek any thank yous or applause. I’m thankful had the chance to be there!! esp at the first women’s division. I know Miki will go really far with hers. She has amazing talent and is by far more photogenic and superb with the media 🙂 Also, I’ve never believed I was great at this ce thing, but it sure is fun meeting up with people you come to know. It’s also great if you have opportunity in travel. I’m not quite sure what I’ll be doing this year, uncertain where I’m headed, but I do know my direction as far as my personal goals that are not displayed publicly. Enjoy each day everyone! And strive for what makes you happy! 🙂

Agree with Anon. 7:33. The competition will push both competitors to the absolute max. We all thought Sonya’s best was 41 until 2012, and we all know Miki’s best is somewhere north of 40. Tp those watching the women’s 2013 event on July 4th, the men’s race for #1 will likely be a letdown of undetermined degree.

True you may be somewhat friendly with Ed from CE, but you are not good friends with him and you certainly are not a friend of the family which is whom all the guests most certainly are. Besides that, i’m sure Ed didn’t want to take the chance of you taking candid photos and plastering them all over you website along with a negative story to boot. I hear the affair was top notch.

8:05, absolutely not! Nor should such personal issues be made public. Whether any of the people involved think it’s right or wrong, fair or unfair, should NOT be up for public access or discussion. Doing so undermines the dignity of others and it causes resentment.
If I can use myself as an example, I cannot count on my fingers and toes the times I have felt unjustly offended by people, but that made me take a look at myself and put myself in the place of the person who offended me. I sometimes would beat myself up trying to justify the “unfair” action toward me, until finally I just moved on, letting hostile feelings go; they’re too burdensome to carry around.

Again, the author thinks he is still “owed’ something and has not been given his just “due” by her, and he continues to resent her for it. He might change the wording now that I said that, but anyone can read it and see what I’m referring to.
Sonya Thomas, like Stephanie “Chilita” Torres, Tim Janus, Furious Pete, Legs, Joey, Badlands, and others, have their own minds and feel secure enough about their own functioning to refrain from revealing personal issues in public, in order to validate their actions or seek approval.

I got news for you , with the exception of Lerman whom we know are good friends with Jarvis, the other two might have been over his house maybe twice in the last 7yrs. Even Seiken visited him more than once. And you Mr anonymous expert ? How many times did you pay a visit ? Hmm Hmm Hmmm ? I think Brian Seiken has grown up since Krazy Kev boat party in 2004 and i doubt he would have made a mockery of the affair plastering photos on his website . I guess its the Jarvis loss. First off, thank you for the overwhelming response following my victory at the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, Las Vegas qualifier. 40 HDB /10 min may have been more (or far less) than what you anticipated, but I’m pleased with my number as a novice still navigating this crazy world of competitive eating. I couldn’t have asked for a more exciting professional debut, and I hope only for more opportunities to continuously challenge myself.
More than yesterday’s win, I’m thrilled to have put on a performance that might have added (if even slightly) to the general interest in CE. If my participation got even a few more people looking forward to the finals, that’s great by me.
With that said, I want to address anyone bad mouthing other competitors: Please don’t put others down to build me up. While it’s flattering to be mentioned with seasoned veterans, I’d rather not see disrespectful remarks directed towards others made as pretense of praise for me. Crude and cruel comments about the competition serve no constructive function, and I can’t condone enthusiasm of this sort. What’s more, they’re simply unfair to the targeted competitors who deserve more respect.
I’m very much looking forward to competing with all the great talent of MLE, including of course, Sonya on the Fourth. I sincerely appreciate that we have talent of that caliber represented in the female division, as it can only push me to improve in this sport. Rivalries can be fun, but let’s keep it clean when talking about the competition.
At the end of the day, putting others down isn’t going to get my numbers up.

That’s a wonderful attitude and wise words, Miki. Your presence on the Fourth should take the women’s division up a couple of rungs on the CE ladder. Though the 4th is still a ways away, I wish the very best to you, Sonya, Juliet, LMM, Cardboard Shell, Maria Edible, and and every other female competitor who has earned the right to eat at the Women’s Finals!
What I wish most is that each of you do your very best. If that happens there will be a few exclamation points at the end of the statement made by the top five finishers in your division!

Those of you that may doubt Miki,trust me i have been to many of her competitions and shes no joke. Her debut at Nathans set a debut record. Theres no discrediting that. Its going to be a great competition and i for one am stoked to see it. Anyone else on the sidelines just wanting to run their mouths, feel free to try the qualifier wherever you are and when you dont make it or cant get in it…..just quiet down, relax…and enjoy the show on the 4th.

My comment above was referring to the female winner of a Nathan’s qualifier finishing with a higher total than the male winner since the qualifiers were split by gender in 2011. It obviously happened before 2011, otherwise Sonya and Juliet would have never competed in the finals.

Its unbelievable what the amatures were able to do to the pros. We knew Gilbert could eat but Jeff “TheBeastMan” from Phoenix looks like he could be a serious force. Sudo vs The Black widow for many contests to come . I cant wait

Nathans used a different hotdog formula at the contest,lighter in weight,size and less beef. I had one which of course was less money and tasted pretty bad. Bring back the old hotdog please, they were the best..

Your pretty dumb..Hebrew National cant and would never use Pork. ,but the dogs used in that formula were like sauage meat.
