Certainly not scripted for Hollywood. The teacher is supposed to tame the pupil for a few contests before the pupil takes over the legacy. In this case Sonya Thomas took a severe beating from the younger and sexier Queen Sudo. Unless there was some controversy over deductions, Sheas or sponsor flying Sudo out to WV turned out to be a profitable venture

Miki was outstanding. Sonya, the champion she is, gives her much credit on her website. 840 you are just trying to start shit. Actually, I neither think Miki needs any lessons, nor do I think Sonya did less than excellent. As she was quick to indicate on her site, she ate more pepperoni rolls this year than last year and placed higher. I can’t wait until next week to see Miki and Sonya square off again in Acme Oysters. They will both kick butt, no doubt!!

I have to admit the live stream was crystal clear almost like high def. A far cry from those cheap cams they used for the krystal circuit and the even cheaper ones they use in Buffalo. WV is a small fry sponsor and look at the fantastic quality. Shame on you Buffalo and Krystals

No wonder so many eaters never comment on here, at least not as themselves. Me too. Some comments are just horrid. They get worse and worse with the attackers. Makes sense to not even read. I like to read but no reason to be attacked personally by writing my name. This seems to be someone’s idea of fun. About the contest, I would bet that Sonya is congratulating Miki and all other eaters. Will go there for some fresh air though give her time. She is a fierce competitor and I am sure that she is surprised and likely will rebound and be even more determined. She would be the first to say may the best eater win. This is becoming the years of the women and injecting new excitement into CE. It was once Kobayashi whose name is still likely the most known ever and will be. I am guessing that Chestnut is going to consider his options as well. Very interesting developments. About the live stream and all that. Be happy for the good stuff. Each sponsor has to balance what they get from sponsoring. We do not pay for the freebies but someone does.

I demand an explanation as to why Maria Edible has not competed in one single contest this year? I am sure that MLE would fly her anywhere. Let’s get out of the crapola in the sandbox, the BS, the BO, shred it and get to the main event. By the numbers this is pretty amazing. Time will tell but Miki almost pulled off a big upset. It is only one contest though. Even so it is pretty amazing that she hung with Chestnut by half. The others are close too except for Juliet so it depends on the food and the future. Not that Juliet cannot hang with the boys and beat them but she does not do many contests.

1157, you could very well be right. How much time are you talking about? Are you basing this on the one contest, at which Sonya came in a distant 4th last year? Last year Juliet almost beat Sonya in pep. rolls, so it seems to me that that’s not one of her better foods. Perhaps Miki will go down to the French Quarter next weekend and show her how to eat oysters. If she beats Sonya then, I’d say she owns TBW, but I suspect Miki will not participate. If she doesn’t I can certainly understand.

It is a good thing that the top eaters on the scene right now are good sportsmen and sportswomen. They know that CE is a battle against the self moreso than against each other. Joey, Sonya, and Miki (and Stonie, even though he wasn’t in this competition) have been quite civil with each other and supportive of each other, and that is great. No one should deny that Miki has already earned her place in the marquee of CE through her skill and spirit. This is a very exciting time right now for the sport that we all love. I, for one, would be over-the-moon excited if Sonya got dethroned as the queen of CE by Miki this year, and it would be even more amazing if Miki were to actually beat all the men at Nathans, even though there is a separate staging of the contest for men and women.

Sonya is very classy and always says good things about everyone. That is to be admired. She is also very smart. She may just start practicing or come up with other ways to make sure that she stays on top. She is a dynamo, and I would not expect her to do anything else except improve. Even though hotdogs is the big thing, all of the efforts put into Nathans has to take a huge toll on the body. Chestnut is certainly hotdog pumped. Look at the other eaters who decided not to chase him in hotdogs, the top ones. I really think they have made a choice. They put their efforts into others foods and do not ruin their bodies in the process.

No one likes to see the same people on top. All the eaters are on Miki’s side, whether they admit it or not. They are tired of TBW being the top woman every year. Same for Joey. The thing is, once the other eaters see Miki cutting in to their prize money, they will resent her too. Maybe so much as to leave Major League Eating. Miki Sudo is bound to be the mouthpiece for all of Major League Eating. She expresses herself well and for the average viewer, she is not real hard on the eyes.

I just checked it out, and it looks as if her News and Notes page is now her “Home” page, because if you go to http://www.sonyatheblackwidow.com, that’s what comes up. The previous Home page never said much anyway, so it’s probably for the better.
Her comments are always positive. If she doesn’t have something nice to say, she just doesn’t say it, whether she thinks it or not. It’s a shame more people don’t follow that ideal.
