Geoff Esper, Eric "Badlands" Booker, Meredith Boxberger and Larell Marie Mele are expected to compete in the Nathan's qualifier at Taste of Syracuse Saturday. 5 qualifiers left, 4 good eaters yet to make it, Denmark’s WC won’t be beat, some one can possibly get in by faking their way in if they make the right choice. Hmm Hmm!

If that’s true, that he dropped Syracuse (because he can’t beat Esper) and is going to Long Pond instead, that’s so bush-league.

Esper is a major force, soon to be #4 or #5 in MLE rankings barely behind Miki (both he and Adrian). What is the logic in Booker going head to head with Geoff when he can go to Long Pond the next day and have a much better chance of winning? He is probably getting his expenses paid because of his pre-contest rapping routine, but he should save his actual qualifying for the next day. Of course, if he could manage 30 in Syracuse, he could send Denmark scurrying across the country. Wouldn’t that be nice!

2:09 I think it’s 6 good eaters and 5 qualifiers left: Esper, Salem, Oji, Hendry, Booker, Martinez

DC is under wraps from my understanding. So make that 4 qualifiers left for 6.

    I wouldn’t call Oji a good eater

Booker should perform a short rap tribute to Muhammad Ali prior to the contest. Its only fitting out of respect that George Shea or the other MC hosting the contest should at least acknowledge his passing

What does Muhammed Ali had to do with competitive eating? About as much as poker. Yes, he was a great man, but this isn’t the place. Oh, I forgot, you make almost all of the idiotic comments here. George Shea’s job is about product placement and entertainment.

Chestnut does not have to qualify, as he is a former champion.

IIRC Kobayashi always had to qualify as a past champ, in fact one year was given the “sponsor’s exemption” for failing to do so.
