Congrats to Carmen for an outstanding performance. He will no doubt be immediately entering the MLE rankings at a high position thus pushing down the current #50 to where he belongs.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY – On this day in 2006, The Shredder Goldstein after doing back to back qualifiers defeated Leon Feingold’s sister and a few other scrubs to win the final qualifier at LI Ducks stadium, taking home 2 30lb cases of Nathan’s hotdogs and a fake trophy.

There is a video of the contest on FB George brings Carmen to the stage and says show em the guns Carmen . When Carmen lifts up his shirt George says “the exact opposite of a six pack” George should have used that line for a former inflatedly ranked eater

Those 73.5 hotdogs Joey ate were specially grilled and with fresh buns or maybe he got a hold of some of those hollowed out hotdogs Seiken used to reach his personal best of 11.

I FF the video to watch Carmine and not Chestnut doing an exhibition minus Stonie

Watching the video it is abundantly clear that Denmark is a blatant cheater just like Conti was in that qualifier video a few years ago. Of course nobody would call out Conti, but I would think since Erik comes across as an asshole someone would call him out…

If anyone buys tickets to Wahlburgers rooftop party, they will have a good vantage point to observe shenanigans like the viewers in the upper level of the Escondido mall in 2010.

How come when Kobayashi does his rooftop exhibitions or whatever , and beats Joey record in a simulcast, George is quick to blow it off as rubbish yet it is perfectly ok for Joey to do exhibition events and proclaim him as record breaker . I think they were hollowed out hot dogs grilled to perfection. Lets see if Joey can break the record being served the cold dogs from Pocono Raceway qualifier and see how far he gets

74 hot dogs is like crippling your internal organs. I doubt he ate that many. During a Nathans qualifier i saw Nathans reps slicing each dog in half the long way for the neat eating contest . I would assume same applied with Joey

The look on Joey’s face after he hit 70 was the same as when Siken clears plate #1

Joey eating at a sanctioned contest has more credibility and gives him a similar experience to the qualifiers and the contest itself and is better than eating in his own kitchen. I think it is pretty amazing. If he can regularly eat that much, the others are going to have to really up their game. Everyone else who worked hard to qualify, no matter their numbers, will pale by comparison. But I think all will be paid this year. Until Joey, no one could come close to Kobayashi. Kobayashi’s demos or contests really are meaningless unless he goes against Joey directly.

Joey has vowel to come back and prove to the world his dominant eating abilities. Here he proves his hard work and training.

On the other hand, Beautiful Brian Seiken has made the same statements numerous times and still we have no recollection of any comeback. Give the people what they want BB. Prove why you are the living legend.

Why is it “obvious” that the numbers are inflated? Denmark ate 32, I’m pretty sure he ate 33 at last years finals. It seems while most of you are very quick to praise Carmen’s 42, several of you are also very quick to claim foul-play at the thought of Chestnut, (The World Record Holder mind you…), eating 74. Maybe you are right though. Maybe Nathan’s and MLE totally “sliced Joey’s dogs in half the long way”, or very cleverly “hollowed-out” his hot dogs. Maybe Carmen was accidentally served a couple of Joey’s hollowed-out plates too. That explains it. That has to be what happened.

Why is it “obvious” that the numbers were inflated? Denmark ate 32. I’m pretty sure he ate 33 at last year’s finals. That doesn’t seem inflated. And why is it that everyone is so quick to praise Carmen for his 42, yet some of you seem equally quick to claim foul play when Chestnut, (the World Record Holder mind you…) eats 74? Maybe the critics are right though. Maybe Joey’s dogs were hollowed-out, or sliced in half long ways. In fact, maybe some of Chestnut’s tampered-with plates were accidentally given to Carmen. That would definitely explain his miraculous 42! I mean, it’d impossible to actually believe the greatest competitive eater in history has made a comeback and is only now in his prime right? No way that’s what happened! I’m sure the MLE and Nathan’s found a way to manipulate Joey’s hot dogs in an attempt to make people actually believe he’s back in top form. Nice try Nathan’s and MLE, you can’t fool us though!

Why do certain individuals still cling to this site long after they resigned from MLE?
Answer : Because their wannabe career was so pitiful and the numbers they put up were so pitiful that they need something to hold on to. EX 1lb shitty bologna 9.5 HDB

Sorting the mail by zip code, roach breeding and seat smelling are all good career opportunities and hobbies to fall back on when one realizes he’s a failure as a competitive eater after 18 years and not 1 trip to the Nathan’s finals.

The Hot Dogs used to be 2oz each so the numbers will probably be higher, given they’re 25% smaller at 1.5 ounces each.

Yes, buns may or may not be the same size, but a 25% reduction in weight means room for more dogs in competition !!!

Any weigh ins on this ???

    Thanks

The competition hot dogs are still 2 ounces each. They are the natural casing all beef dogs, not the skinless dogs that are now 1.5 ounces. Don’t go spreading rumors.
OJ, if you could attach a picture at this link showing the now 10 ounce, 5 count hot dogs that would be great.

Scroll about halfway down the page to see the package and description.

So what’s the consensus here? Does anyone actually think some new guy really ate 42 HDBs??? Even more, did Chestnut really eat 74???? Chestnut has appeared to be on a pretty consistent decline in recent years, and some random guy somehow reaches a number that only a handful of people in the world have ever reached before…seems fishy. Please give your thoughts.
