Congrats to Geoff for setting a new world record and solid numbers for 2nd-4th. Sean moving up the ranks too at the eating table! @OJ what are we thinking for wild card numbers this year ?

I don’t think Darrien ate particularly messy at this contest. I saw others eaters’ spots that appeared to have more debris than he did. Also, all eaters will likely agree that this is one of the messiest contests in MLE. Just because of the food and how it is presented to eaters (bowls that are difficult to get 100% clean).

Note how George Shea was more optimistic about the Chestnut situation than the fire & brimstone kind of stuff we got in the press releases.
I guess “our way or the highway” doesn’t exactly fit the mood of a strawberry festival though.

The men’s wild card standings are
48 Nick Wehry
32.5 George Chiger
30 William Lyon
28 Kylan Lee
Jocelyn Walker is the women’s wild card leader with 10. I can’t list anymore until I know the genders of the single names.

Thanks OJ on the wild card standings update. There have been a few International byes so will be interesting to see how many wild card spots are available this year. Noticed that MLE is bringing more International eaters to the table even without competing. Thinking 30 might be the number to hit for wild card also dependent on the DC qualifier this weekend

Why wasn’t Tanner here? Does he still have a chance to be named rookie of the year?

@1142am it’s possible but also Sean Yeager has a strong case now for rookie of the year based on his performance at Donuts and strawberry shortcake. Tanner might be getting ready for the qualifier in DC this weekend.
