Can’t call Webb a cheat anymore! He will beat Joey in Coney this year.

Brown should have been there to be podium worthy at .5 lbs.

Yea, you can still call him a cheater. Just because he didn’t cheat at fudge doesn’t make him “not a cheater”. He will probably get 2nd place at Nathan’s this year. If Joey doesn’t show up to compete, then he’ll probably win.

I don’t think anyone is up to beating Joey. No one puts in the time he does to train. Not having a contract though makes the set-up mysterious. He must want something that MLE will not give him.

Different food, but this record reminds me of Stonie’s 14.5 lbs of birthday cake in 8 minutes. The fudge was fresh made, so they were able to eat considerably more than I was expecting. (thinking of more chalky, well set fudge)
Was hoping for a Esper victory and watched James very closely live and in replays. His 5 pounds in 2.5 minute pace was very real. If this in any way translates to hotdogs this summer – yikes.

13.5 pounds of the most calorie dense dessert there is, and the man won’t gain an ounce. Legend!

The fact is James is like a machine with no wasted motion and he was out of the gate drinking once per slice. Wasn’t jiving or clucking his head like a duck with wasted motion. His wings tech was superior as well to everyone else. Simple straight forward actual technique.

Web what an incredible win. You are on pace to be number one. Definitely number two in the world going for number one

JWebb is gifted with natural ability in swallowing large amounts of food at a single time. He has grown his capacity to rival the best eaters in the world. The fact that he is doing food challenges Live less than 24 hours before an eating contest is inexcusable and shows he does not care at all about perception. TikTok’ers and Instagram followers are too stupid to not believe that he burns it all off in the gym each day during his 45 minute sessions. They are blind to how Webb truly manages to do the volume of eating contest and “stunts’ that he does. As long as the venues he “advertises” for in his vids are happy, and the views (and income) keep piling up, he’ll continue to behave this way. He is truly going to be one of the GOAT eaters, but he needs to take some responsibility to his audience.

MLE wants to lock up Joey for another 4 years. They ain’t his management team. These little events can’t be much of a draw for Eaters. Go big, or waste our time.

Wander how good it felt for Pat Bertoletti to beat that fake wannabe Radim Dvoracek . Radims been running around his home country saying he holds the record for the 1 hour plum eating contest . Which is not true because Pat Holds The Record!!!

The business & staff are safe, but the Uranus area had a tornado last night. The news had a pic of the giant Mayor Louie statue missing his head, along with a pic of the head on the ground elsewhere.

Fact that Webb beat Esper by nearly 3 whole pounds is insane. Joey wouldn’t have beaten Geoff in this one anyway. I can’t imagine Jaws signing a 4-year contract with MLE unless the make it “extra sweet”. Maybe this is a great time for a second, competing eating league to pop-up…

It is incredibly naive to think that a second or competing eating league would/could be established. It would take a sizeable amount of money to start one. Eaters themselves could never do this. You need office space, personnel, contacts and experience.

I say this all the time and there has never been any kind of valid argument to support otherwise, but there is nearly a zero percent chance that a second competing league will ever make any traction. I cannot name any “professional” sport / recreational activity that is ran / operated as badly as competitive eating is. Things now are actually worse than before social media was invented, which cannot be said about ANY sport or activity. Bags (corn hole), frisbee golf, darts, badminton, ping pong, and probably even something related to geology or astronomy all have more followers and fans than “eating” does in regard to the sport as a whole. There are “eaters” with a lot of followers, but all of them did 98-99.9% of the work themselves, and the ones who have been a part of MLE have been severely held back, rather than helped or assisted. Joey’s Big Mac burger video most likely has made more money for him than 4-5 years of doing eating contests regarding actual profit from prize money, once travel expenses are accounted for and that doesn’t factor in sponsorship or “under the table” money. People can only watch the men’s 4th of July contest and then they go on with their day until the next 4th of July.

In addition, all the eaters are “veterans,” not using the word old lol, and we as a community totally poop on all the newer eaters trying to get started with everything. There are quite a few that are eligible for negative remarks and well deserving, because of their choices lol, but most are completely “harmless,” using that as a term of endearment. Talking nonsense about people like Radim, Cherish, Mitch, and others is completely nonsense. To say that competitive eating is growing or doing anything considered positive or trending upwards is ridiculous and living in a fantasy world. Speaking of that, it’s easier to watch people play World of Warcraft than competitive eating. Hell, how many people complain about this unmonetized site who pay absolutely nothing, that OJ has kept pretty well updated for over 15-20 years. There are no ads and he or she has taken all the time, almost daily, just so we can keep up to date since no organizations actually post much for the general public to keep updated. My mom and dad wanted to watch Radim do the fudge contest and I just laughed. That isn’t a good thing. We can easily watch a bunch of people compete at chess, building 500 piece puzzles, and stuff like that though!!

Hey Randy, Not that any of this stuff is truly healthy, but did you at all think fudge was kind of a extreme food choice for a contest?
I’ll admit to geeking out over this one, but my initial thought was ‘oh no!’
(and remains so – since we do not see or feel the aftermath)
There’s always a choking potential, but it was likely quite a bit higher here. Thanks!

Greg, you do realize that pretty much all of the top eaters at these contests aren’t digesting the contest foods, right? as long as there is plenty of water and EMS on standby, the chances of someone actually getting injured/dying due to choking at an MLE even is pretty low. More likely to see someone choke during a Nathan’s contest qualifier, TBH.
