The MLE twitter has a list of entrants in tomorrow's Nathan's qualifier at Concord Mills omitting Hall Hunt: "Wing Kong, Crazy Legs, Subich, Boykin, Grace Lee". (Brian Subich announced he would not compete yesterday.) The high tomorrow is expected to be 95, hopefully the contest will be held inside. update Grace Lee's podcast about the contest is available (via eatingcontest) update #2 WCNC also lists Brian Szontagh, Travis Wheeler, Vanessa Lugo and Katie Fisher as expected entrants and Micah "Wing Kong" Collins announces that he is currently lacking transportation south.

I wonder if Hall had a change of heart for making a full MLE return or will just do local stuff from now on… Didn’t he recently get married, maybe he’s thinking about the health risk involved now that he has a wife and prolly wants a family…

At the 2009 Atlanta qualifier it was 98 degrees and not a cloud in the sky, the contest was outside, on an uncovered flat bed, on an asphalt parking lot.

Ok then Shredder won 2008. it is always hot as hell for the atlanta one. this year was better but we had to climb a damn ladder to get on stage in the heat.

I did not, nor would ever set up an eater…my numbers aren’t good enough to get myself in…so that theory makes no sense
Work simply got in the way…and unfortunately it looks like home will get in the way for Fishkill…sucks but that’s life

Kong! I think you are golden. Let’s see what happens but your number is excellent, you more than deserve to be at Coney. The problem is, as always, when the qualifiers come out, all eaters strategize about where to eat without knowing who will be where. Of course people change where to qualify as things play out. Family, job, finances all are a factor except for Joey, of course. That is just the way it is. You have worked at competitive eating and gotten better and better. Hats off to you Kong!
