Unfortunately it is unlikely that Geoff will beat Joey. Joey has put years into winning Nathans to the detriment of his other eating abilities.

MLE will always cater to joey, whether he wins or loses contests because they rely on him throughout the whole process of planning and hosting events. They’re too lazy to do their jobs, they’re indifferent to growing the organization, and theyre completely incompetent at marketing, so they rely on the same old trick by building Joey and Joey alone to bring in new sponsor dollars.
For the sheas, joey’s an MLE consultant, an embassador, a marketing crutch, and a veto in their world, so no matter how well Geoff performs, the truth is, they’ll never care. Ever. They didn’t care to even give Carmen an accurate count or proper attention during his Nathan’s performance as he was pushing Joey.
And MLE cares even less about Geoff than they ever did Carmen. They won’t even bother to stop calling him Geoffrey, which he dislikes. Theyll probably quit running MLE all together when Joey says he’s out. They don’t care about anyone else, not the eaters, not the sponsors who fund contests. You need to accept this is you go the MLE route. You’re an extra in the show. A warm body to flank Joey’s exhibition.
None of this is Joey’s fault. MLE just needs to stop bullshitting their fans and rebrand as, “Eating Fast with Joey and Friends”

Geoff Esper also doesn’t help his case by not doing any interviews really or news before or after contests. Joey could probably do a better job of building other competitive eaters up though. Just like the top athletes do in other sports
