Alex Waverly ate 10 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the first prize of $5,000 at Sidewinder in Phoenix on Sunday, which is probably the highest cash prize / hot dogs ratio in competitive eating history. Entrants had to purchase lottery tickets to win contest spots.

Somebody will undoubtedly say “crap numbers”, but you never know for sure with these things. I once did one where they used huge crusty brat rolls and cold wieners for $500 and just about everyone flat gave up.
The food can be cold, hard, huge, bad… we don’t know! Anyhoo… congrats to Alex for the win.

keep in mind they said this was a lotto style drawing for who competed. You are lucky to find the average person in a lotto drawing like that to eat 10 in 10. Good for him either way. Id be curious to hear all the numbers because 2nd probably only did 4 or something.
