Here is a list of all winners of a hot dog eating contest held at Nathan’s Famous in Coney Island in the database. Before 1980, competitions were held on various days throughout the summer. The first contest to receive news coverage was held on June 30, 1967 to commemorate the centennial of the hot dog. Walter Paul reportedly won that event with a reported total of 127 hot dogs in an hour.

i met the 1980 Nathans champ Paul Sneideman aka 80s porn star Jerry Butler in Marine park in bklyn in 1993 Nice guy a physical fitness freak Very good looking full head of wavy blonde hair He was doing a ton of situps on the board that day Ended up chatting with him as we were walking around the park Didnt have much to say about his porn days but felt more comfortable talking about the jets he was a big sports fan He mentioned that he blew all his money on drugs in the 80s. Mind you this was way before i knew he competed at nathans In 1993 Nathans had little if any credibility on television or for that matter newspapers. he did mention something about masturbating to some girl in high school , mentioned that black women are bred for sex .
