What about Andrew Kossuth a sleeper thats been passed up more times than Gil Hodges been denied to baseball hall of fame. His most recent 12 hot dog and bun performance. In Coney Island should have been enough to finally earn him a spot in the top 20

how you gonna get rid of Deep Dish?, he has beat everyone including Joey in some events, he gave everything to MLE, this is excatly why I don’t eat for them anymore or promote any of their events, all the new eaters in MLE, if that’s how they treat guy’s like Pat, Tim and Nate, imagine how they are going to treat you.

Did anyone ever think that Pat and Tim made the decision to leave MLE to concentrate on their own business? Maybe they do not have time to compete and run a serious business along with Pat’s other day jobs. They got a lot from MLE and MLE got a lot from them. Friendly parting.

We, sitting here on the periphery, playing “armchair QB,” are not privy to all the details. It could be as simple as contract renewal time surfaced and some eaters, including Deep Dish, just decided not to re-sign. Who really knows, besides the eaters themselves and MLE?
It’s amazing how some people want to wait in ambush for anything negative and then pursue that angle for all they’re worth—-if only as much energy was expended doing something constructive.
I do know that I’ll miss Deep Dish not being in MLE, but I’ll keep up with his exploits. He is the best sweets and jalapeno pepper eater on the planet, and kind of hard to ignore.

Congrats to Miki on her well deserved #7 initial MLE ranking, and also to new entrants Jeff, Pablo, Neil, and Corey, along with returning entrant Marcos.
I expect Miki to move a bit higher, still, and Jeff Butler will almost assuredly move into the top 10 (from #16) with a decent Nathan’s Finals outing.

I don’t understand how Jim Reeves, who is a very nice guy, is still in the top 20. It’s as obserd as Shredder maintaining his spot for so many years.

I always liked Pat and sorry to see him go but im shocked he hung around for 6yrs as wild and crazy as he is. Still true devotion coming from a kid that started when he was only 21. On another note maybe i should be grateful i am still ranked but for some of you loyal historains if you go back in the trusty eatfeats archives , i beat some of the eaters ranked ahead of me so #48 is not reflective of my capacity as an eater. Then again the haters will prob only remember me for 11 dogs and buns a la Bill Buckner 1st base fumble of Mookie Wilson ground ball in the 86 world series

Shredder maintained his spot in the rankings as a trade off with the Sheas for allowing Tim Janus to get the majority of the media publicity when they first started

Anonymous said
May 10, 2013 @ 2:35 pm
Edible isn’t allowed to get food with another eater as friends when in the same town for a contest because she’s dating Pat? That’s kind of dumb. Just because eaters eat together does not mean they’re dating. It’s flawed logic. Obviously most do this because of a love of food. They love to eat. Why wouldn’t they share a meal? Naader and Damon did a bunch of videos together, are they dating?

Quotes from the R & H article:
: “I chose not to re-sign to explore Stuffed” “and focus my attention on the food truck.”
: “I realised that I have no future in competitive eating…”
These two statements seem to contradict each other. He has no future in competitive eating yet he is continuing with Stuffed and the food truck.
Shades of Eminem’s Slim Shady.

Anonymous said

I do not find the two statements to be contradictory. I think what is meant that Pat has achieved everything possible within MLE and there is nothing further there for him. He has no future in competitive eating with MLE which would interfere with his exploring all other possibilities to promote his food truck and himself. I do not see anything sinister about MLE not putting any article or announcement. They do not do this at all, never have or just do articles once in a while. They do not care about videos and such. They care about promoting a product for their sponsors, that is what they are supposed to do as PR people, period, amen. It is only on here that people come up with conspiracy theories and subplots which do not exist. Pat gets to be himself as does Gravy and go forward. Look at what Pat is doing, he isn’t doing contests per se. He wants to use his experiences to do other things and to promote himself and his projects, especially the food truck. Both MLE and Pat had a great run, now Pat is going in a different direction.

Pat? A role model? Yeah maybe for Brian Seiken.
beautifulbrian said
May 11, 2013 @ 2:28 pm
Yeah maybe he was a role model of mine. In the 6yrs he was involved with MLE i have rarely heard anyone say something nice about him. I guess its because i had a brief association with him. Cant think of anything else. Have you ever stopped to think that he is a very bright young man that wants to move on with his life and watch his health at an early age? Too much food ingested on a frequent basis can pollute the digestive system. He might be a little spaced out at times but i think he knows what he’s doing
Anonymous said
May 11, 2013 @ 2:46 pm
I hope he knows what he is doing. I do not blame him for being concerned about his health.
Anonymous said
May 11, 2013 @ 3:46 pm
It has nothing to do with health. The sneaky, money hungry Shea’s probably want to get paid for the Stuffed show and want a piece of his food truck. Good for you Pat (and Tim) stick that straw hat up their asses.
