KC Royals start all you can eat tickets

KansasCity.com notes that the Royals have started a new class of ticket:

This weekend, the Royals held the first of what will become a semi-regular promotion in which fans can buy a club-level seat with unlimited hot dogs, nachos, peanuts and soda.

“Oh, we’ve seen a lot of people through here who could do some damage (in competitive eating contests),” says Shawn, who worked the All-You-Can-Eat concession stand Friday night. “Especially peanuts and hot dogs.”

1. Veto “The Machine” Porter 4.22 lb.
2. Gentleman Joe Menchetti 4.11 lb.
3. Mark Lyle “the Human Vacuum” 3.77 lb.
4. Elizabeth “Rubber Gut” Canady 3.66 lb.

Mark Lyle wins AICE Kansas ribs

This is Mark Lyle’s fourth AICE victory in 2006. The other three are meatballs, fair food and reuben sandwiches.

Team Nathan’s hot dog contest at Kansas State Fair

kansascity.com and hutchnews.com have reports from yesterday’s team hot dog eating contest at the Kansas State Fair. The National Guard team won with a combined total of 46 hot dogs. Radio personality Lucky Kidd had the best individual mark with 13 or 14 HDB. (The contest is not a qualifier for the Nathan’s finals in Coney Island)
