Conti interviewed by truefan after Saratoga
Liz has posted a long interview with Crazy Legs Conti following his victory in the Saratoga qualifier to truefan:
I genuinely feel bad that Mike Landrich didn’t make it. I’ve never met him, I don’t know what he put up in Vegas, but if it’s any consolation to him, I didn’t get an email confirmation either. There is no grand IFOCE conspiracy afloat, I saw an event I wanted to go to so I picked up the phone and found out the info and showed up. In high school it took six calls before I got a girl to agree, but I made it to the prom. I arrived at Saratoga to learn that instead of the usual seventy people, only seven preregistered for the contest.

I hope CL doesn’t take anything I said personal. It’s not him personally, its the lack of organizatin that cost me a chance to qualify. I probably wouldn’t have done 22 anyway, but we’ll never know.
BTW My rookie contest of any kind was Nathan’s in Vegas and I did a legit 14, with no debris whatsover. I srated to choke on #4 and that screwed me up for the whole contest, so I think I would’ve done 16 or so otherwise.

Oh Mike if your so great you have the rest of this year to practice so you can take your ass out to a site next year and do your little bis as a tune up for real eaters. Your in the wrong league.

Hmm, let’s see. I never said I was great. But I had what I consider a good first contest. I ate 14 in Vegas, w/o hardly any debris. I can see how you would think 16 is so far away, since you are such a big name in the sport. So big in fact, that you are afraid to use your real name. I hold all Anonymous posts in the same level of disregard. There are a few people in this sport that I know and whose opinion I value, Kevin Ross for one; however, you are not one of them.

Mike you have to learn to ignore. If its anonymous or Luther , then its not even a question. There are a few that post under their real names and try to start shit but they do not have the balls to meet you in person and talk smack to your face. It’s all about acting big in print.
