Great to see so many eaters getting a chance to experience trips outside the US and thank those who serve. Sean Gordon is featured in this article, (with all due respect to Steak and OJ). I saw Sean qualify for Nathans at Patriot Place his first year. Attention was focussed on Pretty Boy and Goldstein battling it out and as is sometimes the case, a surprise winner was declared. I also remember Sean and his whole family’s excitement being part of CE. Congratulations Sean. Steak, you keep me laughing with your twits, and Kong Pizza champ, if you ride into Boston wearing that Yankees garb, eat pizza here but beware.

Thank you Rona. My family is very important to me and having them be apart of competitive eating with me is pretty cool for all of us.
I think that all of us that went can say we were changed a little by the trip. Our hosts were fantastic and very appreciative of us being there and it seemed to make a difference for them, even if for a short time. Troops, teachers, firemen, cops, etc all make a difference in our world and I don’t think enough of them get the recognition they deserve. Like many of us who like to eat, they don’t do it because they’re gonna get rich they do it to make a difference. I’m glad I got the chance to give a little back.
