I second that. Thanks Erik. If we waited on the IFOCE to post their own results. We would be well into next week. I don’t understand it.

    4/26/2008

Joey Chestnut spearheaded another exciting tempura fried asparagus eating contest today and won the event by downing 8.8 pounds of the green vegetable.

Pat Bertoletti placed second with 7.14 pounds and Erik the Red took third place with 4.75, edging out Juris “my abs don’t lie” Shibiyama by a quarter of a pound.

Pat is sliding. After the oyster contest after only 8 minutes he looked like he was going to puke after eating only 36 dozen oysters. When a girl has the record that you cant break, and another girl is pushing you to the point you almost throw up to be able to win, its time to quit. Face it Pat.

Those totals are wrong, Joey ate about 2-3 oz more than Pat. Joey was three spears in to his 9th pound, Pat was one spear in to his 9th pound. Juris and my reported total was low as well, I had one spear left on my 5th pound, Juris had three spears left on his 5th pound. Nasty Nate ate 3.25, Erb had 3.5. The weighing was really off, I don’t know how they could report that. I have some pictures of my plates I will post later.

But those comments about Pat are funny, so keep writing them.

So why are the actual results and the reported results so different? That’s ridiculous. It shouldn’t be that difficult. Didn’t Nerz go to Yale?

And if, for some reason, the contest totals needed to be “adjusted” (I can’t imagine what that reason would be), that footnote should be added to the post contest results on IFOCE.com. That is, assuming the post contest results on IFOCE.com consist of more than just two sentences.
