    Great Job Erik.

You are on a Roll and all I can say is you are One of the Elite Eaters on the Circiut.

Also your Charity work in Seattle was very much appreciated by the Community .Keep that going in the future.

You have a huge Heart and Stomache.

Here’s a link to the article from The Arizona Republic from Sunday’s paper. The paper has a nice big picture on the front of the sports page as well. Angela, the reporter, took video interviews and taped the whole event, so hopefully that will be available at some point.

Great performance, Erik and congratulations for winning your first non-qualifying title. You keep getting better all the time and you have a great enthusiasm which makes competing so much more enjoyable. Beating a great eater like Jed and the other high quality eaters in the field is really a terrific accomplishment you should be very proud of.

The video on the AZ Central page isn’t so great. It’s not the whole contest, and doesn’t show all the eaters.

Looks like the frybread was WAY hard to eat. I read Skinnyboy’s blog about it, and he said pretty much the same thing Wild Bill did when he got home on Sunday – that it was almost completely inedible, and that no amount of dunking could or did help.

SO – congratulations, Erik! That was a win that you certainly worked hard for.

I’d love to see the official results, though – ALL the results. Anyone know if they’re posted anywhere?

The results in the eatfeats database are as official as you are going to see, given that Andrew Lane said that Ryan Nerz did not bother to determine the totals for people who were definitely out of the top 3. See

I hate that shit. It’s disrespectful and rude to ignore all those Eater’s totals. It would have taken the official 5 more minutes to weigh EVERYBODY’s plates. Instead you have situation where an eaters spends hundreds in training, hundreds in travel, and doesnt even know how he did.

Yeah I agree, that is shit. In 2005 I was in a Nathan’s qualifier, and again 1 in 2006. No real change in the way it was run – very disorganized, both before and after. It seemed like there was no one in charge and it’s amazing anything even took place. Both times positions 1,2 were announced. 3rd place only announced in 2006. Both times there were 12 people, but who knows who did what. By stark comparison, I was in a Krystal event in 2005 and again in 2006. Big improvement from one year to the next. EVERY eater feels special. And rosters were released before, and all the eaters got aknowledgement after. The Krystal people put on a VERY good circuit. Nathan’s and the IFOCE should take a thing or two from Krystal about how to market and run contests.

But the IFOCE is a marketing arm and doesn’t really care about anything but getting the clients money. I wonder if they are paid in full before the events?

IFOCE learn something from Krystals. It’s not hard to take care of everyone, you’ll be more legitmate.

I take offense to any negative remarks about El Toro. I happen to think he is good eater and has alot of potential.I admit he is not playing with all his marbles but thats good for competitive eating because there are not that many normal people in competitive eating to begin with. He is also alot funnier than Dale Boone with alot less arrogance. He is a big fan of my shows and any fan of BB corner is a friend of mine!
