The Jerusalem Blueprint has an article about Jewish competitive eating asking why there are not more ranked Jewish competitive eaters. George Shea calls Crazy Legs Conti the only high ranked Jewish eater and Don Lerman is billed as the "Sandy Koufax of competitive eating". There is no mention of Dave "US Male" Goldstein.

    US Male most likely ranks up there as one of the best all-time Jewish eater with Lerman, even better than Crazy legs. Let’s not forget other Jewish eaters such as Allen Goldstein, Joel Podelsky, Leon Feingold & The Hungry Hebrew. That would round off the top 6 for sure.

    One Goldstein made it to the Nathan’s finals 5 times, the other Goldstein won a Pathfinder in Wingbowl and has some of the funniest and entertaining eating videos on the web. Therefore a certain man boobed wannabe eater who can barely eat 11 hotdogs (17 with fancy camera editing) should keep his roach infested opinions to himself.

    There’s plenty of Jewish eaters. . .I’m technically in that category (half jewish). It’s just not everyone shouts their ethnicity from the rooftops and gasp, Jewish people look nearly like everyone else. Maybe if Jewish eaters wore some kind of patch or arm band, it would be easier to identify them.

Twice on wildcard gift that he begged the Sheas for and the other three times his competition consisted of younger sisters of ranked eaters who had about as much eating abilty as little kids in the neat eating contest . The less religion is brought into anything the better…especially competitive eating. jews, mormons, christians, muslims, scientologists, etc…there isn’t much difference.     A client walked into my office some years ago and it was apparent he was losing his hair . He told me point blank look i want something completely undetectable no two pay or any of those other cheap wigs because people have tendency to look into your scalp while chatting with you if they notice something suspect .     I never did really look at it as a “Wall of Fame,” but more as a tool to market Major League Eating.

    It’s more about money than honoring the pioneers and legends of Major League Eating. At least the first one seemed half-way legitimate.
