    This was filmed prior to the racially offensive TikTok . He shouldn’t represent any eater. Neither should Raina. She defames restaurants because she doesn’t get her way then cries the race card.

    Good for him, but I wonder how many eaters turned this down knowing that comp eaters look like side shows and silly in these shows.

    @4:02 agree and Pat Bertoletti auditioned back in Season 10 of AGT agt.fandom.com/wiki/Patrick_Bertoletti though did not make it past the judges cut. As indicated, pro eating/competitive eating is more of a speciality act for festivals and other events. Perhaps, if there were team based competitions with fantasy leagues and over/under bids then this may have more of a viewing similar to other major sporting events. Potential is certainly there for pro team eating match-ups as the entertainment factor and being easy to follow make the case for bringing in viewers on large network TV.

    I heard Joel’s talent is he shows up at a restaurant, eats, doesn’t tip the server, then proceeds to make a video with racist remarks. Oh, then he bums a free nights stay off a patron.

    Having watched a few of Joel Hansen’s videos @modelvsfood if he can add the comedy element or some other aspect such as some ‘on-key’ belching after doing a massive eat then there are possibilities. He is entertaining but the show isn’t designed for an ‘eating’ act or strong man (previous auditions for this as well) alone taking the prize as these are more like side events as others have said. Good luck to Joel though!

    Can someone explain the appeal of this guy to me? Like why is he so popular? His videos are not anything impressive (badly edited), he’s got an above average capacity and speed (so do most eaters who do YouTube). He’s overly loud and seems kinda fake. From the comments I’ve read he’s not very well liked by other eaters because he uses people? Sounds like he has a problem tipping too?

    I guess I just don’t get the appeal.

    He also repeats himself over and over. “Ten pounds, yes ten pounds!” One of his recently poorly edited videos he also left a frame of the completed challenge at like 4 minutes in.

    @5:11, tbh I feel there are a few people on hear which blow it out of the water and it then through their multiple comments seems bigger than it is. He’s a good bloke, maybe not the smartest at times, but anyone around me is cool with him .

    Does this guy do anything other than the following:

    1) post videos of contests with amateurs
    2) do team challenges with really bad eaters to make himself look better
    3) post thumbnails of team challenges with just him in it to give the illusion he’s doing it solo
    4) bum free nights stays off people
    5) only talk to other eaters when he either wants to figure out what contest they may be at, or wants locations of challenges of the area he’s going to
    6) pretend like he keeps all the food down in challenges (because we all know he doesn’t)
    7) when he loses challenges, just doesn’t post them
