Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi appeared on NBC's Today Show this morning to promote their hot dog eating contest in Las Vegas on Netflix on September 2. I think this is Kobayashi's first public appearance in the United States since a September 2019 charity burger eating contest in Miami. Joey Chestnut also appeared on the Bob & Tom Show today. He said that Kobayashi requested a ban on dunking hot dogs in water and also hints that there will be undercard eating competitions before the main event.

    Kobayashi’s English has improved greatly though later in the interview he was grasping for words. Why the ban on dunking? Obviously his technique without dunking makes him a better CE. Anyone know what time the program is scheduled.

    who in their right mind would waste their money on this crap One thing if its free but they are both making 8 figures Another netflix ripoff Netflix is known for taking reject projects such as this one and is especially famous for picking up rejected movies from the motion picture industry

    No the non dunking gives kobi the advantage. One Joey has more capacity so to not be able to utilize dunking will slow him down. Two joey is the only Ester to only dunk and not drink any excess liquid from the cup . He’s perfected dunking hot dogs. This rule gives kobi a chance to win.

    If you are watching on Netflix and have an account it is free. So you are saying that Netflix is selling tickets to watch the event in person?
