Joey Chestnut w/ “Extreme Amy” today
The IFOCE facebook reports that Joey Chestnut will appear with “Extreme Amy” of Fox 5 Vegas today to promote the Martorano’s Meatballs contest. Ron Koch attempted a burger challenge on an “Extreme Amy” segment earlier this week.
update Joey Chestnut’s appearance with “Extreme Amy” is now available online. Darren Rovell, in Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker, bumped into Joey Chestnut earlier today.

Anyone out there have any predictions for this event? A lot of interesting factors in this one. Using forks make it a bit unique. Joey, of course, is the favorite. But, Bob will surely give him a run for the money and he’s proven himself at meatballs. And, I think Sonya and maybe Pat might be going as well. Getting the the top five at one table is pretty cool. Although, it’s not for a lot of cash, I think the location helps draw top talent — it’s Vegas baby!

As great as Joey is in most foods, he has never won a meatball event. Bob and Sonya have. The best two eaters in the world with a untensil in their hands are Kobayashi and Sonya. Koby’s not there. Humble Bob is, and he has more momentum than any other eater as of late. I look for either Bob or Sonya to win it all.
Deep Dish has an outside shot to win, because his hands are almost as fast with a fork as Al Bundy’s are at the Nudie Bar.

you have to consider meatballs will be harder to chew and swallow then say chilli spaghetti, grits or oysters. The hand to mouth with utensils I don’t think will play a large factor in this one, but it’ll be interesting.

I also would be curious to know if the meatballs are those big bombers you sometimes get at italian places or the smaller ones like those served at the Tropicana several years ago. I think the bigger the meatball the better for Joey, Pat and Bob. Sonya would probably do better with the smaller ones chipmunking them down.

Chestnut is a great eater, but a very bad loser. And, really, I’d rather see Furious Pete smile than Chestnut. Chestnut would be great if only he could be gracious in defeat. But he can’t. I reiterate that my “negative” posts, here or on speedeat had my name attached regarding BB.
I may have spoken poorly of the schmuck on occasion when he wasn’t around, but it wasn’t anything I wouldn’t & probably did say to his face.
My true opinion is that he’s functionally crazy. A bit nuts, but not a real harm to himself or others. He’s certainly not the only one like this involved in our “activity”. I’m sure others may put me in the same category.
I have always enjoyed his site, though I have to avoid the front page so I can enter without deciding if I feel sorry for or pity him.

Not for nothing but i spoke to the brass at the IFOCE to try to get you back in several years ago but they wouldnt budge. Dont say i never tried to do anything for you Joe. On another note , BB.com and Speedeat. were innovative as far as being the first competitive eating websites to clash on the net. From 2003 to 2006 those sites were the only game in town. There were several eaters(one retired and one still active) that wanted desperatly to either spit in your face or slam you in the mouth but i assume that they backed off because they figured you could probably hold your own or you just werent worth it. I have to admit as much as i cant stand you, we did have some good times in the early days . Joe is a big dude as far as height and physical appearance and impressed me by transporting my air conditioner from one room to the next with one hand. You are one of the rare few i allow to treat me like shit. Now that two real people with real names attached to real faces are posting shouldnt that be an incentive for some of you to come clean and post under your real name? I am trying to help OJ legitimize his website for the first time since 2005 when real eaters were posting under their real names. Can we all make this change and stop the hiding so we can phase out names such as Luther and Rhonda Evans?

OJ this is wonderful news. I remember you tried this before. Hopefully this will be the start of bigger and more productive input on your website. The process still wont prevent an idiot or two from registering under an anonymous name but now they will think twice about the aggravation of setting up a password and email address. If its an inconvienience they wont bother. There are still a few that will go out of their way to register under a fake name just to have the priviledge of insulting me.

I did find it very amusing but i had to equate that post with you because during one of your undertaker videos with Toro you stressed Boone’s name in the same context.As stated in the post, the eater or eaters that come back with a legit defense is reason enough for me to believe them. As with Reeves, i apologize and rule you out as a possible suspect. When I first started eating I loved coming to this site, I’m sorry but I didn’t go to your site because I didn’t know about it, and later when I did start to read it I found it difficult to read one huge paragraph. but that is neither here nor there…But honestly I’ve never wanted to follow as closely as I should because of exactly what is going on now…the last few weeks of you fighting with yourself, a ton of anonymous’ and Rhonda…The same crap went on with the Lermen bashing and I just couldn’t read it day after day…
You talk about having your site to better CE and bring news forward…but you turn people away with all this crap…And you’re not just pushing them away from this site but from competitive eating itself. This site is a great medium to generate outside interest, and we just act like children and push potential fans away because they can’t wade through the minutia…no one wants to sort through this name-calling mamby pamby bullshit to read about an eater they like or may have met somewhere and eaten against.
If you and the others here are really a fan of the sport and want to see it move to the next level and have a bigger fan base maybe we should make it a little less of a litter box for all of our pissing contest…

Kong the mamby pamby bullshit is good for the sport every once in awhile. I used to get involved with debates about the sport in general, but when champman and coondog used this site as a vice to slander and belittle my name in late 2005 by posting vicious and hateful remarks which not only included my self but family members as well , thats when i said screw my good standing as an ambassador to the sport. .At first i tried to be diplomatic about it but it didnt work. Im not going to let assholes like that get the best of me. . . It was those initial comments that started a chain reaction and eventually the in thing to do was bash BB whenever the opportunity arose . . The advent of allowing anonymous posters to say whatever they feel at any given time certainly opened the floodgates for the bed bugs to infect this site. They realize that slamming my eating ability wont get my goat so they look for another alternative like slamming my website. I have asked on many occasions that they post under a real name but they wont go there for two reasons. One is to captivate an audience and the other is the luxury of remaining anonymous is their way of thinking they could fuck with my head . There is no fun in this unless they can keep you wondering . “who the fuck can it be” ? I think the lerman bashing days were somewhat amusing considering that he came off as a klutz with his misspelled words and the use of CAPS in his responses. However he didnt find it very amusing. The fact of the matter was that most of the Lerman bashing was initiated by Luther who in fact is a fictional character or possibly someone we know. Apparantly he got under Lermans skin to the point where OJ was forced to shut down one of the threads . My intention was not to push people away from CE as you just stated and im sorry if you feel that way. OJ has taken a step in the right direction in allowing only the registered to post. I dont know how long that will last because he tried it in the past but it didnt last long. Maybe he missed the Luther’s , truth hurts, and the rest of the anonymous assholes that have nothing better to do than to make fun of people. Maybe Juliet changed her name to Wenhua and dropped her website because of that same situation . The reason you did not make the cut is because several people have told me you post under anonymous at times to fuck with other eaters. I am sure its all done in a friendly fashion but you have been known to incorporate a sarcastic persona to your resume which led me to believe that you might be a suspect but certainly not the lead suspect at this point. Inspector Noodle seems to have the situation under control . Like i said my prime objective is not to deter anyone away from the sport. If people start showing me some respect ,things might change for the better and i will concentrate on CE and not this baby shit you and everyone else has been accustomed to seeing. OJ you can take the right step in mentioning some of my editorial from time to time. Shutting me out like that certainly didnt help matters. But then again doing it out of pity for me or doing it as a favor cause i mentioned it just makes it worse. Do whatever you want. It really doesnt matter anymore . One thing to keep in mind. I realize my posts have taken center stage over the past 24hrs. That will stop .I will continue to post if i find a thread that is worth responding or add some incite too.
