Kobayashi withdraws from St. Pat’s Chowdown?

In his most recent blog entry, Kobayashi talks about withdrawing from the Saint Patrick’s Day Chowdown. I do not understand the automatically translated Japanese well enough to discern if he has decided to not compete or just considered cancelling and will proceed:

You made speak some days ago, concerning conference participation, it came simply.
It is urgent, but because it made to cancel the participation, you report.

This time, this kind of, to encourage me even in urgent cancellation, wipe insecurity, the attorney corresponding quickly, Robert and the UFFO authorized personnel, everyone thank you truly.

update The involvement of an attorney brings to mind the following song by the late Warren Zevon (presumably the only guns are on Kobayashi’s arms)

I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this

I would bet it is safe to say he pulled out. Some people are going to be really pissed off

I’ll bet the Meatsweats are behind this. They pressured him not to show. They’ll do anything to win….anything…I’ll bet they keep Joey from getting on the plane too!

Kobayashi is not there he has officially pulled out of the event. They found him in the airport in LA curled up in the fetal position crying like a girl because he was scared of Pat and Joey.

Totally serious he is not in Savannah and has pulled out.

I may have said that in the past, but I haven’t paid any attention to who’s in & who’s out. I did see the add w/Jauns & Legs & assumed both were in.

Regarding Kobe pulling out, I’m guessing the Shea’s gave Kobe something to sign that he didn’t agree with, or they haven’t paid him what they agreed upon for his US “tour”.

As a conspiracy theorist, at least regarding anything Shea like, I guess I have to think that way. Could it be an illness,? Of course

I hope that Kobayashi shows up. I think it’ll raise the bar of everyone else’s performance as they try to take him down. SpikeTV must also be none too happy if Kobe isn’t there; he’ll help their ratings for the program as Kobe is obviously the most recognizable eater to people that don’t follow it closely.

That’s unfortunate about Koby. I hardly think his not attending is due to fear of losing. I’m thinking he has a genuine problem at home to take care of that does not relate to CE. I’m sure every other American is happy, however. I wonder who the 8th eater is or are there only seven now?

Im glad he pulled out . Not because i dont want to see him compete but because he was smart enough to tell them to go you know where . I knew it just had to be a money thing or signing something. As far as Crazy Legs he signed a long term contract years ago that allows him to participate in all media events the Shea’s have planned.Have you ever seen Crazy Legs not appear in any CE television production? Wake up and smell the coffee

I struggle trying to understand that translation from his website. I actulally welcome Dale Boone and Don Lermans caps and horrible grammar opposed to trying to figure out what Kobe is trying to say.

Rhonda, I don’t believe there is any top eater that is happy to see Kobayashi pull out. They all know that the only way their talent is judged is by their competing against and eventually beating Kobayashi. They also know, that currently, the biggest draw in the CE world, is the inevitable defeat of Kobayashi to an American. Probably Joey, but possibly Pat.
