Juris Shibayama reports that the balls were about racquet ball sized in a small amount of broth and were cooked, but cold. He also says that Joey donated $500 (1/2 of his cash prize) to the MD Anderson Cancer Center and he donated $250. Patrick Bertoletti also donated an unknown amount.

Now you can understand why my site does not report contest results as it did so frequently in the past. They report the breaking news to eatfeats first. Much appreciated new school eaters. Now you know why i added the line to my song “New school eaters are takin every cent” If the winner ate 70 or more they had to be golf size matzah balls or smaller. Ask Don Lerman myself or anyone else that competed in the real matzah ball contests at Ben’s six or seven years ago . Those balls were half pound to 3/4 size matzah balls . Considering Chestnut’s eating ablilty he would probobly consume in the 30 plus range in the 5 min time limit if they were the Bens matzah balls

ok first off the matzah balls were racquet ball size,and yes they were in a broth and yes they were very cold,and i dont think any of us trained expecting the balls to be cold, (no pun intended,stop giggling Liz,lol) Joey and Pat went back and forth for the lead,first Joey had it,then Pat did ,then Joey by 2 in the end,the good Doctor kept a great pace and went through 40,Nasty Nate was right next to me and ate 30,i ate like crap,and almost lost it at one point,but as usual it was fun and getting to meet new eaters is cool too (Nate,Juris) even the non Pros did well,Elizabeth ate 9,her first time ever and she is really pretty too (always a good thing),a guy from florida ate 13,i think his name is James,and another guy named Rubik ate 14 (great name) anyway it was a big success and it was for a great cause….this event shows what class acts we have in are sport,Joey gave half of his winnings to help fight cancer,Juris and Pat donated too,none of them had to ,they wanted too,its called having a good heart,on behalf of my city i thank you guys for coming and making it fun….SyKoBOZO

the time limit was 8 minutes,chip and brad couldnt make it after all….i would also like to thank someone who never seems to get the credit he should and that is Ryan Nertz,that guy is friggin cool,if you just sat there and bullshitted with him its like talking to a frat buddy,and he always makes you feel like your one of the regular eaters too,which is excatly what i did with the Non Pro eaters at the event,cause that was me just 3 events ago (and i still suck,like i always tell everyone i cant eat worth a shit yet,but i can definetly stick out in a crowd….maybe i can just be the good-will ambassador killer klown at all of the eating events,Have A Nice Day 🙂

Wow. Hate, hate, hate. BB, I’ll email u results the same time I email them here. Didn’t realize it was such a big deal. I’m just trying to get the info to the people. If u really wanted to know right away, u could have called Kenny & Ziggy’s right after the contest & u would have been the first to have them.
They were definitely bigger than golf balls. I’ll say again: raquet ball size.
I know it may seem paltry, but I’m happy w/my number. First food I’m able to eat more than 1/2 of what Joey & Pat got. I know it’s not quite the same, but if I extrapolate that to Nathan’s & Krystals, that would be a good number. Top 10, here I come!!!

Those are some unbelieveble numbers that Joey and Pat put up, and Dr. Big Time and Nathan had very respectable totals too.
Food for thought for the IFOCE: Given the infrequent and low number of IFOCE contests that eaters must now contend with, it becomes especially important to re-examine the prize structure to pay out to as many placings as possible, in order to reassure eaters and nurture eater comaraderie.
Right now the twin towers, Joey and Pat, are untouchable, and they may well decide to attend most every event, given the few that occur. That means that if payouts are just to the top three finishers, unless eaters are the caliber of a Sonya, Tim, Chip, Humble Bob, or Rich, they will have little incentive to show up. And assuming the twin towers show, these extremely talented, aforementioned, by-name eaters will have to settle for third place money, and virtually all other eaters won’t be winning a dime. If such occurences happen too frequently it will breed resentment towards the IFOCE and Joey and Pat. This would be MOST unfortunate and totally unfair.
I really hope the folks that run MLE have thought / are thinking about this. It is hoped that they will use a prize structure similar to the one in Shoo-Fly pie, in which payouts are awarded to the top seven finishers. You know Pat will win (unless Joey shows up and gives him some competition); that’s a given. The real dogfight will be eater placings outside # 1 or / and # 2. And it will be fun to contemplate / observe that competition — fun for the eaters, fun for the fans.

By the way, Joey established a record for 8 minutes. Officially, you can’t break a record unless the conditions are duplicated, and time is a major condition (8 vs 6 minutes).
It’s not a question of “could haves” or “would haves.” It’s did he or didn’t he? He didn’t. Just like Erik “The Red” established an Egg Record for 8 minutes, even though he ate less than Sonya did in 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Had Erik eaten 100 Eggs, Sonya’s record would still be intact — different contest lengths.

Bigtime i dont hate anyone. For the record im the first one to come to your defense when anonymous assholes refer to you as an egotistical bodybuilder. They might have never used those exact words but they have attempted to get that point across in a different context. As far as supplying me with results its no big deal. Keep em.i should never have had to ask . It should have been instinctive on the eaters end. In your case its not your fault . Eatfeats is first on everyone’s mind . Hey when your hot your hot. My site is not about that any longer. Not sure how long im going to keep it going anyway. The hits arent coming in like they used to be honest im getting bored with it. .I am sure the haters will just love to hear that. To answer the Critic. Yes Badlands doesnt whine because he is a role model for the IFOCE and an all around good person. Im more of an al sharpton of CE. I see something wrong or that doesnt sit well with me i report it. And if someone asks me to report something negative or positive i’ll report that too. No more requests for new songs on the album. The material is set. I have enough requests for 2 to maybe 3 followup parody cd’s.

Numbers in all foods have gone up, why not matzah balls? Have Nathan’s HDBs gotten smaller? The answer is no, yet the number has almost TRIPLED in the last 10 years. Should we believe that matzah balls are somehow different, just to satisfy some old egos? Get over it. The new guys really are that much better eaters.

I was there, and the Krystals were smaller.I wasnt in the competition but after the contest I ate some, and like the commertial wheres the beef and the bun., everything was smaller.Like someone said before the numbers are being inflated to bring more interest to ifoce.Just like baseball did after their strike, they let the guys juice up to hit hommers to bring the crowd back.Just think about it..
